Re: Sizer die adjustment

Buy the hornady case comparator tool for you micrometer for 35 or 40 bucks(whatever it is now). Measure and set your sizing die accordingly.

Re: 300 Blackout "Blanks"

I am somewhere between -DONT DO IT and -DO IT, THIS COULD BE AWESOME Beyond that I have nothing to offer of substance! Do you need a blank like a 5.56 blank that will actually produce gas and cycle the action? Or do you just need the primer shot? Im thinking its the former and I have no clue how to ...

Their pistol dies, at least the carbide ones, are 2 pieces as well. I had the carbide section come out of my 9mm die(might have been 45 die) and they replaced it no problem.

Re: Dillon 308 die not bumping back the shoulder

I might be asking a dumb question, but you using a 308 die for 300blk? Or 308 die for 308?

Or did you miss type and mean 300blk die.

This is a 300blk forum afterall.

Their website indicates DPMS pattern.

Re: Highest Velosity for SUBSONIC loads

So if I'm doing the math right, at 0F, speed of sound is 1,052, at 25F, it is 1,079, and at 100F, it is 1,161? That makes sense. Thank you for that formula. I believe you are correct. Thats why MOST people shoot for 1050 because under "most" conditions any of us would encounter, they will...

Re: New to re-loading - fist batch too hot?

I see your concern for weird things happening with too low of a charge. I am curious what others have to say on the topic of going 10% below the lowest published load weight. I feel that being 1-2 grains low on most super loads is a much safer bet than being wrong on the hot end of the published lo...

Re: New to re-loading - fist batch too hot?

Also you should know that "safely" working up a load is the general best practice of starting 10% below the minimum load Did you mean to post 10% below the book MAX load? I couldnt imagine starting 10% below the min load. I believe typical min book numbers are generally already ~10% below...

Re: New to re-loading - fist batch too hot?

I didn't just randomly pick a powder charge and "Plop on a bullet" either. I went to what I thought was a reliable resource - the powder manufacturer - to find my starting point. One does need a starting point - right? I started in the middle of the stated range. To be honest you kinda di...

Re: Getting frustrated with 130 SOST bullet in 300 Blackout

Do you have a chrono? If yes, shoot 5 round groups over the chrono and look for low SD and ES. Will put you in your consistency node. Its how I do all my final load workup for the last year or so. Make sure you arent exceeding 1% charge weight differences. Your first ones at .2 are basically 1%. You...
