Re: Ammo for mini300/garand build
Just tried 21.0 gr of CFEBLK and a 123gr .310 zmax and got ejection and feeding! I thought that I tried these before but maybe that was with H110. I’m wondering if the .310 vs .308 is giving me that extra bit of pressure needed to make the magic happen? Just tried 110 rn and 130 gr hp .308 and they ...

Re: Ammo for mini300/garand build
Experiment; added 2.0 gr of H110 to the powder in a pulled apart aguila rd, powders look identical, put it back together. Great ejection but no feeding.

Re: Ammo for mini300/garand build
Per your suggestion dellet I pulled one American Eagle rd apart with my inertia puller in 2 whacks so not a tight crimp. OAL is 2.20. Bullet was a 150 gr FMJ-BT with a crimp groove. The powder weighed 19.0 gr and looks a lot like H110 or CFEBLK. I dumped it back into the case only came as high as th...

Ammo for mini300/garand build
At first I thought that I had built a $$ manually operated semi auto garand but after some tinkering with the op rod springs and spring guide I’ve gotten it to eject 100% but only American Eagle 150gr will reliably feed the next rd. ??? Does anyone know the actual powder that Federal uses in these c...

Re: Mini 300blkout/Garand build
My .33blkout/garand build here is also on the Gunboards and Perfect Union forums complete with photos. After my smith put it together but got stumped and couldn’t get it to cycle I picked it up last week to start tinkering with it. I eventually got it to feed, fire and eject 8 rds of American Eagle ...

Re: Mini 300blkout/Garand build
I’m using an ipad pro and have my photos in folders. There are no computer id with these just the images. On the other sites I haunt it’s relatively easy to use their image access, some are more picky as to size and a second app is needed on most. When I go advanced it allows my to pull up me photos...

Mini 300blkout/Garand build
I started build this years ago. It started out as an older mini14 that was rebarreled by Accuracy Systems to 300 blkout. I then inlet the bbled action into a italian garand stock. After a few dead ends trying to find someone to install a gas cylinder I found a guy willing to do the work. He’s had my...

New 20 rd Pmags vs old 20 rd Pmag
I bought a couple of Gen3 pmags from midway to compare to my Gen2 pmags recently as I’m having issues with them occasionally. I’ve trimmed the ridges on my gen2’s but have had a couple of times when the bcg wouldn’t pick up the rd because it was tilted down in the back. I’m going to swap followers a...

Re: Bolt action AR15
I’ve seen a video of a pump action AR build that I thought was a pretty neat idea. You don’t have to change your hand hold at all. I built a forward charging handle for an AR.45 that I did some years ago, you do have to change your lefthand’s position slightly but you can keep the rifle on your shou...
