Re: 110 grain FMJ same as 110 vmax load?
Thanks for the block of instruction on bullet mfging. I've shot a ton of custom "handmade" Fowlers in BR competition, but never really knew what the process was for making them. The uniformity of those is impeccable. I hafta wonder how that aspect fares when it's applied to a mass produced...

Re: 110 grain FMJ same as 110 vmax load?
The 115 grain UMC, and the 125 grain Sierra - are basically 150 grain bullets with some of the lead missing to make them light. But the copper is still there. I'm curious to how they pulled that off and kept them accurate. Missing lead hasta mean a void somewhere. What's the process for getting uni...

Re: Reloading: How-To Resource Guide
If it fits in this gauge, it will run like clockwork in any gun! Sounds good on the front. 'Specially for checking basic setup of the brass for an "in spec" or even a "loose" chamber. But I can't say it's a 100% foolproof solution. Correct me if I'm mistaken. The gauge was cut w...

Re: Neck size or full length?
Might even hafta use a small base resizer if you run into any feed issues with regular full length sizing. It's a lil tougher on the brass, but brass takes a good beating from any self loading firearm and shortens it's life expectancy anyways, IMO. I'd rather have reliable feeding than ever-lasting ...

Re: Reloading: How-To Resource Guide
Not sure if this qualifies as advice or chatter, but I'll have a lash at it. Delete it if it ain't cool. Just "re-learned" this one recently. Noveske Diplomat 8" in 300BLK. Formed and prepped brass from a very reputable brass man on this site. Took 20-30 pcs of brass to the range and ...

Re: Optional powders for lighter bullets?
Far as I can tell this is the general group of powders we're working with for this case in both sub and super. As stated earlier, I can't say as I cared for the results with the H110/W296 with this short barrel. Which seems a l'il weird since I'm closer to pistol length than rifle. Seems like the 16...

Re: Do you hand prime or prime on the press?
Hand prime all the way. RCBS type. It has it's quirks. But the advantages outweigh them. Definitely better for feel. It's nice to be able to prime a bunch of brass in the living room whilst watching a movie or some such. d:^) Schneeks..

Optional powders for lighter bullets?
8" Noveske. Been pokin around different places researching some alternatives for lighter (110-130ish) bullets. Can't say as I liked the standard H110. The 1680 is great for heavier bullets. I'm thinkin I'd like to try something kindof in between. Like an N130, 4227, W680 or some such. Anybody h...

Re: hornady 150 fmj-bt 1680
One of my best loads so far is 19.7gr/31.5cl of 1680 under several 150gr bullets including Hdy Interlock, M1 pulls and Sierra Pro Hunters Spitzers. Mid 17's with very low ES. This is out of an 8" Noveske. All I got from more powder than that was no gain in FPS and more compression. As usual, YM...
