Re: Primer question, not necessarily a B/O question

Keep it simple, use the published data available out there. I would think he could trade or sell his primers, you should not expect to substitute using them in standard published reloading data. At this point in your experience, no thank you to your friend.

Re: Home Defense Sub-Sonic Ammo

I love my BLK pistol, but over penetration is my major concern in a home defense shoot. The shotty and #4's will be much more effective. And, let's not forget the chack chack as a warning to the miscreant to GTFO so's I don't ruin my new oak flooring. Messy does not describe the aftermath! I have be...

Re: Reloading help! 125 and 150 grains

I found the CCI 450's to work especially well when running compressed charges. Low SD and nice groups with several bullets of 150 gr variety. The BR-4's have never been the best in my SRP applications, including BLK and the .22 cal cases from .222 to .22-250. Dunno why, just had better accuracy with...

Re: Have they fixed Ruger American Ranch Rifle's feeding problem???

I had one mag out of 3-4 that caused the round to point too high, causing the same feeding issue described. I used a conical sanding stone from my Dremel kit to relieve the front of this mag slightly...carefully. Works much better with cast and coated flat nose subs. The other mags I have purchased ...

Re: W 150 gr sp OAL

The 150's I have loaded are OAL from 2.070 to 2.110. These included Hornady SP, Sierra SP and Speer. They varied based on the bullet profile and how close to .30 caliber bullet diameter in the neck. Feeding from a magazine and the bullet profile also dictates what OAL length works for you. 2.10 + or...

I also cruise around some other forums on shooting and reloading. Most posts with questions are folks new to hand loading, but...some of these folks have cars and trucks and drive...yowza!

Re: new guy old gun hand

Welcome sir! The whisper was really ahead of it's time, so many variations with heavy subs. The 300 BLK made the choice of caliber and weapon better for shooters, and with more wide spread acceptance.
