Re: IMR 4227 for supers and subs???

I should have mentioned that I've switched to Winchester small rifle as my standard. They're just hard enough that I feel safer with them with the floating fire ring pin in AR-15s. However in the last couple of range trips I've had maybe four duds, Even with restrike. So I don't know. Standard CCI s...

Re: Why don't mfg post min exp velocity?

I think all of them are always reluctant to make concrete claims. If you state a performance number as a manufacturer that's a risk. for one thing you can be proven wrong in that performance number which looks bad on you. For the other thing it sets a benchmark with somebody else can pass. Or perhap...

Re: Cheap Optics

I haven't used that exact brand but when you're saying over $100 all I hear is could have had a used Nikon and not had problems with it. If you're in the $150 range you're maybe looking at a used nice primary arms scope. I think I would rather have something used for the quality brand than gamble on...

Re: Why don't mfg post min exp velocity?

Oh I bet you the first major manufacturer that starts doing that would lead to something like Lucky Gunner giving a comparison chart. If you then take that then the other manufacturers will have to follow suit. it seems to me in the simplest way to make it repeatable and comparable would be a slight...

Re: IMR 4227 for supers and subs???

I meant to say in the post above, that I really need to give people here the credit for that load. Both dolomite supafly and dellet suggested loads in that general range and they were very helpful to me.

Re: IMR 4227 for supers and subs???

Yep. My sub is "Lee 230 grain" hard alloy at 223 grains after powder coating. 9.5 grains 4227. Same powder for other subs.

I mostly use h110 for supers.

Re: lee Powder measures?

Agree with all that was said. Lee powder measures are great. Their volume charts all err on the safe side. I usually find my actual weight an increment or two above what the chart says. Your scale has a reputation for two things : 1 being accurate 2 being easy to read incorrectly. If you get a digit...

Re: Sighting a scope in for subs and supers?

Friend who owns it says that when he looked into their warranty it was by phone only and they don't have people answering the phones right now. I told him to look for online RMA process but I don't know if you follow through.

Re: Sighting a scope in for subs and supers?

Some of both. Mostly not extracting. We took the bolt out and snapped both 223 and factory 300 blackout brass into it and you could swap it by eye about a 16th and inch out from under the extractor to where it wasn't even catching the rim at all. My first thought was that the extractor either but di...

Re: Sighting a scope in for subs and supers?

I have the same scope as Saxon, and have helped other friends set up their guns that bought the same scope too. I found that it was possible with supers to zero at 100 and then find that the subs would be landing on either the second circle down or the notch above it, depending on the load. So far I...
