IMO the overpenetration thing is a boogyman. I carry full house 10MM (EAA Witness Elite Match) with confidence, and with full awareness of how important the bystander issue is. My main load is the Underwood 135 grain Nosler JHP which is low penetration on the scale but with full energy dump @ 750 F...

I rejected 3 or 4 Nagants for each one I bought , and with 14 of them in my safe not one of them won't do 2 MOA with mil surp silvertip. Hand selection for things like muzzle erosion and matching bolt are the key to getting a good one

I've had squibs like this.. from Herters brand, Tula headstamped from the Ukraine in 7.62 x 39 with no powder charge at all
But never from USA produced ammo. Seems quality is slipping away along with everything else here..

All my Nagants do 2 MOA with irons or scout scopes. Surpass that with the witchdoctery and I'll be impressed. They were all hand selected at Big 5 stores for condition, at sale prices. We are talking 74 to 80 bucks out the door
