I recently loaded these to 2.17” (or right at the base of the cannelure) over 20.0 grains of Shooters World SBR-Socom. I got 1900-1910 fps from my 10.5” barrel.
I still have to do accuracy testing, but at close range on steel (50-200 yds), I’m totally satisfied with this load.

Re: Ammo. What do you buy what do you reload?
I cast and reload for the 300blk AR. I'm no expert when it comes to reloading the 300 blk as it seems lightweight bullets don't like semi-auto. I'm looking for my 300 blk to take on another roll of kind of truck gun. I was wanting to hear people's opinions about factory ammo would you buy the nice ...

Re: 147gr m80 load data
I posted some of this in a different thread, but figured for future searchers, I’d sum up here too. I decided to do a quick test of Shooters World Socom in my 10.5” PWS barreled 300BLK. I took some new 147gn M80 bullets from American Reloading and put them over 20.0gn Shooters World Socom at 2.17”. ...

Re: New Powder???
A little update: Using what I learned in loading the 150 SST, I decided to do another quick test of Shooters World Socom in my 10.5” PWS barreled 300BLK. I took some new 147gn M80 bullets from American Reloading and put them over 20.0gn Socom at 2.17”. That OAL was chosen to provide more powder spac...

WTB 7.62x40WT barrel
Good morning!
I’m looking for a new old stock or very good condition 16-20” mid-length 7.62x40WT barrel.
If you have one gathering dust, please let me know. I’d like to consider rehoming it.
Thanks!

Re: Reloading 300BO with Odd Powders?
There’s no “maybe” or “slightly more suitable” about it, HP-38 is WAY to fast of a powder, and CFE-223 is too slow! IMR-4198, on the other hand is probably a good powder to try with that range of projectile weights, if you don’t want to get a better suited powder. From my reading, Accurate 1680 and ...

Re: How slow before I stick a bullet in my barrel?
If your muzzle velocity is above 0 fps, you cannot possibly stick a bullet in the barrel.
Realistically, you can load as low as you want, as long as the powder you use is safe to do so with. Just keep in mind that even a meager 500 fps is still pretty fast, and there is no reason to load that slow.

Re: New Powder???
Thanks for the reply. I agree. I did expect some pressure signs, as finding reasonable max in my barrel with my component combination was a purpose of my test. The big surprise was a popped primer at an entire grain less powder than the SW manual max load, which they say is <55,000 psi. You're righ...
