Yeah, I learned that lesson, too.
Best to buy LC brass to make your own.
Dies were a problem, too. Ended up using an RCBS small base sizer, Lyman M die expander, Hornady seater, and Lee Factory Crimp die. This combo works for me in a Ruger American and a S&W AR.

The small base dies are about .002 smaller. Since you already have the die, I would say use it and check results. I had to get a small base die for my Ruger American Ranch rifle. The standard die was not sizing the brass enough. The small base die solved my chambering problem. The standard die also ...

I have the Lucky 13 magazine, 10 shot. Works perfectly and is very well made. Expensive, but a lot better than a rifle that does not feed.
