Re: Another Magazine Question (for subs)

Already did. Doesn't really answer what the differences are between the L5 and L5 AWM are for 300 BLK shooters, though.

Another Magazine Question (for subs)

I've been searching and reading, and I have learned that the Lancer L5 AWM magazine is one of the better ones out there. I have a good stash of Lancer 20 round mags, but they're the older style magazines. Loaded with 220gr subs, they bind up a little, with the ridges pushing the fatter bullets inwar...

Re: Sight in distance Question

Yeah, I'm not sold on subs for HD. If I can use supers indoors without risking hearing damage to innocents, I'll do it in a heartbeat. I'd much rather shoot a bad guy with the functional equivalent of 7.62x39 than the functional equivalent of a skinny .45 ACP (220 gr trundling along at subsonic spee...

Re: Sight in distance Question

That assumes that a case makes it to a jury. Around here, a home-invasion shoot, with no other complications, will not make it that far. Yes, I'm aware that this assumes a lot of things (like prevailing political climate and attitude of the SO with regard to NFA items), but they're things I pay atte...

Re: Sight in distance Question

Are there any documented cases of a good shoot (read: one that is no-billed by a grand jury or declined prosecution by a prosecutor) where the plaintiff is successful at civil trial because the shooter used handloads? We keep hearing these horror stories (he was sued because he used handloads and he...

Re: Sight in distance Question

Exactly. Avoiding that was the whole point of buying the can, so not using it is a non-starter. Like I said, I've fired a rifle indoors, with earpro, and I'm not doing it without when I can avoid it. Sure, I could just throw a set of muffs next to the rifle, but that does nothing for everyone else i...

Re: Sight in distance Question

With supers, using generic info (2100 FPS MV, .32 BC, 120 gr projectile, sight height of 2.6") a 175 yd zero would leave you 2.6 high at 100 and 2.3 low at 200, with 2.6-ish being the maximum ordinate. That's slightly different that 1" high at 100, but it's so close we're basically saying ...

Re: Sight in distance Question

OK. What's your rationale for that? I'm not doubting you, just trying to see why that is more useful than something else.

Thanks!

Re: Sight in distance Question

Having fired a rifle, unsuppressed, indoors in training (with earpro), I will absolutely be using the can. Period. Full stop. As was said, if I lose the can for a few months/years while my case is being tried, it's money well spent. That's $1k I won't be spending on hearing loss mitigation for mysel...

Sight in distance Question

For those with more experience with the caliber than me, what are you preferred sight-in distances for both super and subs? My rig is a 10.5" Noveske SBR with a can (still waiting on the ATF on that one). My intended use is for defense inside the home (with subs), and coyote and groundhog culli...
