Smiling again!
The task for the last couple of days has been to get ammo ready for hunting in the fall and do sight-in. Am using 225 gr Hornady MHPBT projectiles driven by 8.4 gr of 2400 on LC cases. Rifle is a 16" Paladin SS barrel w a pistol position gas block, YHM light weight rail, Springfield trigger, an...

Re: Elk Hunting with the 300 BLK. What bullet would you choo
Most of the old guys using light rifles have lots of practice choosing their shots carefully. A skill they've learned the need of after losing a few animals to lousy hits. As far as Bison go ... I must group the use of a 300 BLK on an adult Bison with the use of the 45/70 on Cape Buffalo ... is a st...

Re: 6.8 vs. 300 BLK
OK ... I'll take a different side just to provoke thought: The 300 BLK's greatest strength is that it can be run suppressed with heavy projectiles that do upset on impact providing good killing power at short (100 yds or so) distances. These loads can be almost as accurate as the 6.8. (I get better ...

Re: SAS Reaper Ti
Am glad I bought the Arbiter. Is amazing on the 300 BLK and very effective on the .308 too. Does a terrific job on the 6.8s too! Have not shot it much on the 5.56 as I have a twitchie selector thumb ... so will wait until the KAC NT4 QDSS clears to play buzzgun on the 11.5" registered receiver ...

The YHM rails have a large enough ID to allow that I believe.
Gonna use a thread-on can inside the rail?

Re: holding out
I have an SAS Ti Arbiter as well. Is simply amazing on a 300 BLK. I use it as well on a 308 bolt rifle and two 6,8 ARs. Great can! If you want to shoot cast bullets in the 300 BLK you should consider a user serviceable 9mm can that is rated for subsonic 300 BLK. The SWR Octane 9HD works very well in...

Re: 247 Gr "Bison" Boolits for sale. Gas Checks available.
Rocker,
I also have the NOE mold but haven't had time to futz with them much. I got the plain base mold as I intend to shoot them through a can at some point.
What sort of loads are you using with the projectile and what sort of accuracy are you seeing with them?
Thanks!

Re: lowers??
Lowers are easy to assemble. I have lowers made by Colt, LMT, Bushy, Stag, Black Rain Ordnance, and Aero Precision. Once you get over the "need" for a billet lower, forged lowers differ only by accuracy of machining and finish. The most accurately machines lowers I've found are the Aero Pr...
