Re: Disappointing Results--Rainier Ballistics 180gr HP

USBP379, Can you run some to impact 900-950 fps which would be more in line with the muzzle velocity of 950-1000 fps. I'll revisit these at some point in the near future. I'll likely have to switch powder as I doubt 7 grains or whatever it'll be of Lil Gun is likely to cycle. Maybe something like 1...

Re: .277 Wolverine Info

Seems like getting barrels is the major stumbling block. I am not seeing many available. That was the case, agreed, but not any longer. We have our own shop now and have been stocking up and selling out routinely... now we have a rythym and you will see lots and lots of barrels in stock consistentl...

Re: Disappointing Results--Rainier Ballistics 180gr HP

My complaint is with what appears to be the bullet's maximum expansion capacity at subsonic velocity. In our test the bullets impacted the gel at 1000+ fps with only minor expansion. It has been my experience that expansion is directly related to the velocity. The lower the velocity the less the exp...

Re: Disappointing Results--Rainier Ballistics 180gr HP

Bummer. Thanks for doing the testing. Yes. It is a bummer. The idea had merit but the end result is less than ideal. I believe the cavity is just too small for expansion at subsonic velocity. It would seem logical that a bigger/deeper cavity would aid in expansion. But, due to the relative softness...

Disappointing Results--Rainier Ballistics 180gr HP

We recently bought a box of the new Rainier plated bullets from Midway. These are a 180gr plated bullet and were apparently made by Rainier at the request of Bill Alexander of Alexander Arms. The story is that Mr. Alexander asked Rainier to make what's basically a .30-cal pistol bullet rather than a...

So where we at two years later? Any additional barrel companies jumping onboard, etc?

How's the Wolverine working for you? It appears to have a pretty good ballistic advantage over the 300BLK. But that's on paper.

Darn it! I just ordered a few things from Selway too. How'd I miss these?

Re: Lovex D063-02 powder

I just picked up a jug of this and am looking forward to trying it for subs.

How's it work with 220gr SMK's and cut down GI brass? 10.5gr good or should I try something else?
