Re: Thompson Center's Contender or now the G2

I completely agree with the above posts. I have been shooting single shots for alot of years now. I started out with two of the older T/C Contenders. Had a 14" 44mag bbl that I sent off to J.D.Jones of SSK to be rechambered to 444Marlin. That was about 1981'ish. Later on I moved into the H&...

Re: 5.56 Bullet question

Personally,I do not find the M855 useless for hunting. Put one squarely on the shoulder of a giant hog,or I suspect a big northern deer and see what happens. Then there is absolutely any CNS shot. Not my choice for "normal" hunting conditions . . BUT . . for survival,or SHTF type of huntin...

Re: Looking for a youth 300 blackout in a single shot

I absolutely love my NEF Handi Rifle (AAC version) chambered in 300BLK. I have learned to like the short LOP guns and the Handi is perfect for me. The 300BLK in a single shot has tons of possibilities as for as bullet speeds and bullet choice. I have also found my gun to be super accurate. I also ha...

Re: 5.56 Bullet question

Why not use the M855 pulled bullets. They show up really cheep every now and then.
My next thought would be as mentioned above . . . the Hornady's. The B.C. would be so close that it would not really matter just as long as you got the velocity similar. --- pruhdlr

Re: New supersized subsonic round announced

Ahhhhhhhh . . . . April Fools right. I took this "brain fart" waaaaaaay too seriously. Now I went and waisted a couple hours out of my day just trying to answer three most basic questions . . . Huh,What,Why ??? But now I am thinking . . . Maybe try some crazy sheet with my NEF Handi Rifle ...

Re: New supersized subsonic round announced

Sooooooooo . . . . . is the bore size (bullet diameter) .500" or is it .510" ?? Lets see . . . special bbl for this round/chambering. Special bolt for this chambering. No mag will work. Single loaded thru the . . what . . the ejection port (I would hope). "A special non magazine"...

Re: Birdshot with ar-15

My thoughts on the subject - - -> Can it be done . . . sure. Done so that is marketable, effective to a degree, and to what degree. Who knows ?? I am not saying for "YOU" not to go for it . . . IF . . . that is your "calling". Personally,my guess is it will never come to the market...

Re: Hornady says no non monolithic supersonic bullets in MCX 1:5 twist .300blk with suppressor

The up and coming 224Valkyrie will be somewhat interesting. It's speeds will approach that of a 22-250 Remington but the bbl twist rate is far less than the older guns of 1:14. I have noticed that Ruger makes the American with a 1:10 twist which would be fast enough (rotational). If the newer Valkyr...
