Re: 220 gr Berry's with 1680...can't get reliable

Did you buy seconds, by any chance?

Have you weighed your projectiles to check variation?

What standard deviation are you trying to achieve?

Re: 220 gr Berry's with 1680...can't get reliable

Berrys Spire pt 220:
2.13" oal
Wolf SRM
10.5g Shooters World Blackout
16" barrel
ES: 5fps (1053, 1056, 1058)

Sandard deviation is meaningless for small sample sizes.

Re: Exceeding Minimum SAAMI Specifications

They wet tumbled them with the primers in. I wouldn't load those without cleaning the primer pockets and re swaging them.

Re: Exceeding Minimum SAAMI Specifications

I trim all my newly formed brass to less that 1.348. Once fire formed its usually in the zone. Never understood why anyone would want to leave their brass longer than min. Unless you like trimming brass...... Does the brass chamber in your gun? If so, load and fire one and compare pre/post measureme...

Suck being the operative word.

Last week's gun show; 500rd cases of Wolf steel case 45acp ball was flying off the shelves at $250 each. One bold capitalist had a $999.99 price tag on his cases of 1000rds of 9mm.

Re: Optic for 10.5" AR Pistol

My favorite sight for AR pistols is a seeall:

Small, no batteries, easy to acquire and can be used at pretty much any eye relief.

Re: Worth the risk to shoot cast through a can?

I shoot powder coated bullets through my Mystic X. They do deposit lead in it. Not much but enough that I decided I'm not going to shoot coated bullets through any of my sealed cans.

Re: what case trimmers do you use

+1. Little crow Worlds finest trimmer. I put my used carbide end mill bits in them once they get nicks or flute damage. The end cutting surface usually is still good. Carbide bits will last forever on brass.

The cost is easily offset by time saved.

Be cautious of Facebook and reddit hand loading advice. I've been using SRM primers in ARs since the dawn of time. Wolf was my all time favorite until they ceased importing them many years ago. Wideners used to sell them for $16 per thousand. Where did you get wolf primers, if I may ask? I'd love t...
