Re: neck resizing - i.e. erasing mistakes
The kind of variation you are seeing is caused by a combination of two things usually, flex in the press, combined with your dies being set up in a way that makes it worse. If you run a normal sizer and the rapid trim at the same time, set one of the dies to bottom out somewhat hard (don't break the...

Re: STICKY - Good/Bad brass list converting 5.56->300blk
Your chamber might have a loose neck, or the brass you had was just different. Cheaper brands seem to often use brass from various sources, some of it good for blackout and some of it not.

Re: case necks sometimes bulged after seating bullets
in layman's terms please :) I got the mag rib part but the 0.25 portion of the bullet? He means the portion of the bullet where the diameter is 0.25 should be at the mag rib. Usually works out to be 2.050 OAL or thereabouts for most bullet profiles. I missed the part where you said your powder was ...

Re: Those loading with a Dillon 650/1050...
I have lots of Dillon feeders. Some of them feed blackout fine with only the gate adjustment. Some of them jam cases into the gate when it's adjusted out. The stock washer is too thick generally, you'll get some upside down cases with it or cases sliding under the shellplate. I have had some success...

Re: Reloading Die Question
It's a mystery to me why the "AR series" 300blk dies from RCBS cost way less than the "standard" dies. Just note that "small base" will not help you with brass that has expanded bases in most cases. The expansion (more correctly plastic flow) happens below the point whe...

Re: case necks sometimes bulged after seating bullets
I've seen this happen from having too much powder in the case. A customer came to me saying he had problems with bulging, I seated his bullet in my brass (that he was using) without powder without a hitch. With annealed blackout it is possible for the compression of powder to cause a bulge.

If you want to check your primer pockets as you are reloading them, I have a tool for that. http://ballistictools.com/store/reloading-products/swage-gage-small-primer-pocket I see you are using Lake City though, if those were "virgin" once-fired cases before you converted them to blackout,...

TAA08 - 0.013" good to go, didn't turn pink in the wash like the last batch of TAA that I had encountered. Updated main list. Let me know if you get further information or encounter any of the off-alloy brass. I don't know if you use a citric wash or not.

Re: STICKY - Good/Bad brass list converting 5.56->300blk
A couple new pieces for my list... I have about 250 different headstamps that I plan on testing and will update as soon as I get a chance. These were just off the top of my head. -Tim Thanks for the updates, I've rolled them into the OP. I just got a batch of TAA in so I should be able to gather mo...

Probably best to form, trim, and chamfer the edge before measuring to make sure you get a good reading.FormerNavy wrote: Also, is the wall thickness just measured at the neck of a 5.56 casing with digital calipers or do you have to form it first then measure?
