It depends on how much you like recoil. My Steyr Scout weighs 6.6 lbs and is brutal to shoot in 308. For a youth, woman, or man who has grown tired of recoil, the 300 AAC BLACKOUT would be good. If i am not going to get an upper for an AR and just shoot out of a bolt action is there any reason to get 300blk over .308? I will be using the gun for deer/pig/yotes!
