Re: 300 BLK VOR-TX vs Car Door- Barnes Barrier-Blind Bullet
Excellent video. Thank you for taking the effort to do this. It's too bad that you couldn't have recovered the 2nd bullet that was loadged in the door panel. A pair of tin snips might have been handy. Quite some time ago Robert Silvers posted the FBI car door penetration tests on this site. I took a...

Re: Just received.
Interesting choice of hardware for a build. Curious, why a 20" 1:10" twist barrel for a rifle that was going to be suppressed?

Re: Just a thought
Not exactly. The free bore difference between the cartridges would be significant in addition to the bore diameter. It would be akin to, "throwing a hot dog down a hallway".dead-bird wrote:.35 Remington...2bad4u2 wrote:I think a 9mmBR or 9mm/.308 Win. would be kinda cool.

Re: Lapua 200gr?
You didn't mention what platform you were using. Care to fill us in? Of course the bullet can be loaded subsonic, however, If it's AR based cycling may be an issue. Manual repeating firearms will of course have no problems.

Re: Hornady .309 90gr. XTP bullet testing...
I made these rounds with bolt guns or single shots in mind so cycling isn't an issue for me with these light loads. If I had an AR in the Blackout, I wouldn't mind pulling the charging handle manually if necessary to do so. For me, primers seemed to make a very noticeable difference. So far, Winches...

Re: Going on a helicopter hunt ... what's the best round to pack... What ever proves to be 100% reliable in your AR. For pigs, I wouldn't make it any more complicated than that. If I had to choose factory ammo it would be Rem UMC 115gr. (if available) and for hand loads it would be 110gr.-125gr. sp...

Re: Hornady 100 grain Short Jacket
That's great. I never would have suspected that they'd feed well in an AR but if it works then go with it. It may very well be the most inexpensive option for shooting 100gr.-110gr. class bullets in your AR. I'm interested in how they worked in your Handi Rifle. Did you test them for accuracy? I sho...

Hi Dan, Best 5-shot accuracy I've ever had with Hornady 110gr. RN-FMJ bullets was 2.25" @ 100 yds. That load was 18.0gr. of Lil' Gun with a WSR primer loaded to 1.85" OAL. My worst accuracy by far was attempting subsonic loads with them. Definitely, groups were measured in feet similar to ...

Re: 5.56 subs
I've shot a few .223 subs with 50gr. V-MAX's out of my Remington 700 LTR for shits & giggles. Accuracy isn't spectacular and in the end I had nothing more than an expensive rimfire with a slightly heavier bullet. I see the value in reduced velocity loads and use them quite frequently. Blue Dot i...
