Re: Barnaul is going to be making 300blk, Supposedly.

Saw some info on the net. It will be about $200.00 a thousand. That is about the same as 7.62x39. I think they will do well with this one. More people will buy a 300 Blackout as cheap practice ammo will be available, IMHO.

Re: First time reloading 300blk

It may take some work to get a good target load at that distance. I would try match bullets of different weights. IIRC, the original Whisper load was a 240 gr Sierra MK. I have not loaded any subsonic ammo yet so I cant help you with the powder. My Lyman AR Reloading Handbook lists A1680, Rx7, and H...

Re: PSA FEDARM BULK AMMO DANGEROUS

Concerning getting a stuck round out of the chamber, you can try using a screwdriver of the proper size between the bolt carrier and the frame. Take the upper off if possible and look down int the front area at the bottom of the bolt carrier. There will be a slight gap that the screwdriver will fit ...

Re: Max Speed To Expand

I have seen a number of tests of different 30 cal bullets. The standard soft points meant for roughly 308 Winchester speeds and above, will expand from 1800 fps to 2000 fps. It does depend on the individual bullet. Some may not expand at 2000 fps. The Speer Gold Dot 150 gr bullet is designed for 300...

Re: Have they fixed Ruger American Ranch Rifle's feeding problem???

I have the Lucky 13 10 round mag and it works just fine. I think they make a 5 shot conversion. I have 2 Ruger mags and they will only feed when loaded with 3 rounds. Tried the mods posted on Youtube with negative results. The AR-15 version was not available when I bought the rifle. Wish it had been.

I am very happy with it!
This is for the rotary magazine version of RARR, right?
Yes. Sorry I did not get back to this sooner.

Re: 300 BLK, a Pain in the Brass

Yeah, I learned that lesson, too.

Best to buy LC brass to make your own.

Dies were a problem, too. Ended up using an RCBS small base sizer, Lyman M die expander, Hornady seater, and Lee Factory Crimp die. This combo works for me in a Ruger American and a S&W AR.

Re: Small base sizing die for bolt gun?

The small base dies are about .002 smaller. Since you already have the die, I would say use it and check results. I had to get a small base die for my Ruger American Ranch rifle. The standard die was not sizing the brass enough. The small base die solved my chambering problem. The standard die also ...
