Best, cheap, reliable, subsonic 300 Blackout ammo for plinking with a Suppressor and where to buy it?

I'm looking subsonic ammo to use for plinking, so I don't want to spend a lot of money. I will be shooting mostly in a RARR but later in a Sig MCX, so I'm also looking for ammo that will work in a semi-automatic. I don't want ammo that is going to dirty up my rifles and suppressors, so if that means...

Re: Anyone have a problem with a Sig QD mount not attaching to a Ruger American Ranch Rifle in 300 BO?

Glad you got it resolved I got really worried after 12 months and a few days I finally got the same setup and got panicked when I saw this thread. I finally got a chance to mount everything up and mine is perfect, but I did not order any different mounts. I think Sig may have changed the design. Th...

Re: Anyone have a problem with a Sig QD mount not attaching to a Ruger American Ranch Rifle in 300 BO?

Update: Resolved Apparently there are different adapters for different rifles. The suppressor comes with the adapter that fits the Sig line of weapons, no surprise there. I wish they would have put this on their website, that different rifles require different adapters. The new adapter I received de...

Re: 300blk Getting more popular, even the media is mentioning it.

Robert Silvers was the person AAC tasked with developing the 300blk. He is also the head honcho of this forum. During the early days of the cartridge, and this forum, there were numerous arguments started by the 6.8 guys about how horrible the 300blk is. There were also accusations of a million dol...

Re: Anyone have a problem with a Sig QD mount not attaching to a Ruger American Ranch Rifle in 300 BO?

If it were me, I would consider a couple options before altering the barrel Remove material from inside the brake so that all the threads are used and create a "flat" to square it to. Remove material from the back (the wrench flats) of the brake (shorten it) if the are not needed. Find another brak...

Re: Anyone have a problem with a Sig QD mount not attaching to a Ruger American Ranch Rifle in 300 BO?

I am pretty sure that Sig will have a minimum thread length and shoulder diameter needed to use the tapered mounts. A quick call to customer service would likely give you that answer. Most manufacturers that I know of want about .630-.650. Basically 5/8" in length. 5/8" of an inch of thread used by...

Re: 300blk Getting more popular, even the media is mentioning it.

This is proof that it's just a boutique round. R.Silvers spent a million dollars for product placement in a TV show for crying out loud. Who's R. Silvers? Robert Silvers was the person AAC tasked with developing the 300blk. He is also the head honcho of this forum. During the early days of the cart...

Re: Anyone have a problem with a Sig QD mount not attaching to a Ruger American Ranch Rifle in 300 BO?

It is better to permanently change a 60.00 part than a barrel. You can put the muzzle brake on a lathe and remove material from the rear of the brake. Not a lot, just enough to give you the extra threads you want so you know you are within your buddies comfort zone. Every muzzle device that is thre...

Re: Anyone have a problem with a Sig QD mount not attaching to a Ruger American Ranch Rifle in 300 BO?

Your RARR in 300 Blackout has a thread pitch of 5/8x24. The nomenclature you are using is incorrect. The sig muzzle brakes are threaded 1/2x28 for 5.56QD silencers and 7.62QD silencers, also 5/8x24 for 5.56QD Silencers and 7.62QD silencers. Titanium or not makes no difference. There are additional ...

Re: Anyone have a problem with a Sig QD mount not attaching to a Ruger American Ranch Rifle in 300 BO?

I think your friend may have talked about turning down the outer diameter of the shoulder in order to engage all the threads on the break. When the brake hits the shoulder does it wobble after you torque it to spec? If it doesn't then you are fine. Edit: A precision alignment rode should always be ...
