Re: 300 blk Subsonic Hunting Primer

dead and Dead Right There are different things. I need DRT! Well said. I think it depends what and where you hunt. Personally, I use subs only for "Raccoon dog" hunting here in Finland. Quite small varmints, headshot is low light is not real option. Damn sure they die when non expanding b...

Re: Better Late than never......

That´s usefull solution too, but as I´m so lazy, I prefer sms trail cameras. I don´ go to cabin before I´ve seen critters are visiting bait at same time for couple nights.

Re: Better Late than never......

i have a couple friends who have gotten silly with theirs. Insulated 2x6 walls, cot or built in bunk, solar panels, double hung windows, propane stoves (the kind that run off the same tanks your bbq or camper does, not the little bottles). All but the heated toilet seat. one of my buddy's blinds is...

Re: suppressor size to Db suppression ratio for minimal added length

Ah, yes, I should set my words better. I was talking about physics, gas flow etc and research how to optimize inner design for maximum supression with minumum size. And pack all that in decent price customer product. I consider silencer in hunting as part of weapon. It must have reliable, rugged bom...

Re: suppressor size to Db suppression ratio for minimal added length

You should check these: http://www.aseutra.fi/index-en They produce maybe best silencers in the world, really. They have developed them for decades. Other http://jaki.fi/en I personally use Jaki Sniper, because it´s most quiet silencer (available here) in all test. My choice for "over the barre...

Re: Quietest semi-auto supressed sub powder?

Don´t know if AR will cycle with N340, but in bolt action it beat´s N110, both loudness and accuracy.
What I understand (whitch is little) about subs, we want maximum chamber pressure (=max consistensy) and minimum barrel pressure (=minimum noise). You can estimate these with Quickload.

Bullet: Leatherhead 220gr Coated Cast

Those look very exciting. Too bad, seem´s Leatherwood won´t ship anything outside US.
Do you have export restrictions for such bullet´s in generally, or is it just this company policy?

Re: cast load?

As I mentioned on other thread, 165gr coated cast bullets were only bullets that shoot under 1moa on my bolt action.

Re: DIY Expanding/fracturing subsonic bullets

I've tried that, but it's not working with such soft lead bullet. Remaining "wings" are too weak. Infact i had some fragmented in my suppressor :P I think centrifugal force created in 1:7.5 twist barrel ripped wings off. But beware, same thing happens if you make too deep cut when split i...

Re: DIY Expanding/fracturing subsonic bullets

Noise. Most of time I use full house v-max loads, but I have couple places (farms) where subsonic is only option.
Anyway, I'm satisfied with my solution, I'm just curious if someone have done it different way.
