Re: 180gr rainier plated hollow point subsonic loads

As Bob describes in the video, the projectiles' OAL varies. Bob, is H-110 a power that you find to be "position sensitive" as described in your video? I could certainly see that being the case, and hope to come up with much more consistent ignition and tighter velocity spreads using magnum primers....

Re: 180gr rainier plated hollow point subsonic loads

RL7 seems to be working well in this 1-7 twist AR. Went out to check this load for stability and accuracy at 100 yards, I guess Wedges can be stacked somewhat

Re: 266 grain cast bullet, the Dolomite special

265 DS Special brakes sub-moa during brass constancy test. Only shooting two rounds to check accuracy and didn't expect this from the first trip out. feeding was smooth LRBHO every time, not bad for a lightweight AR with a 4x optic. Lake City and Fed Commercial converted brass next trip will be Rem ...

Re: Bullet creep when chambering.

I use a Lee collet die after a F.L. resize die for the 300 Blk. Then depending on bullet type ( cast/coated, lead/plated, jacketed ) I have notes on varying crimp for each bullet. .004" C.O.L. growth is what I measure after 4 chamberings, I have turned down the Lee collet die mandrel on other calibe...

Re: Hornady 190 sub-x powder?

Update on RL7 and Wedge 180's: Had time Sunday morning to make a very quick trip to the shooting lane ( only 100 yards :| ) I bunped the load to 11.3 grains for the flat point and kept 11.2 grains for the hollow point, At 50 yards two shots in 1/2" then with a 7" drop out to 100 yards two shots in 3...

Re: 180gr rainier plated hollow point subsonic loads

Read the last 5 pages and didn’t find my answer. Is this bullet for just plinking or does it expand at subsonic speed? Since Hornady won’t sell the 190 gr sub bullets, need to find a bullet around 190 gr that will expand at subsonic speed. Trying to keep POI as close as possible to the Hornady 190 ...
