Re: 300 Wilson Ham’r

I have been seeing and hearing that Alberta Canada, just above our fair state, has a growing pig issue. Someone has allowed escape or other possible excuse. My daughter in law's parents live in Midland, TX, might be a chance to visit and do some critter damage. Now, if Santa had only complied with m...

BTW, I meant to include my praise for both some pretty impressive action shooting and the video is entertaining as well. A lot less talk and lot more shootin'.... 8)

Re: 300 Wilson Ham’r

djones: Not really hog hunting country up here in MT, but I can see there is certainly a speed/energy/ballistic advantage over the 300BO. I think for most folks, the BLK is a matter of a wide selection of bullet weights and applications. Clearly a more versatile round compared to the Ham'r and 6.8. ...

Re: Hunting shirt and pants not made of cotton

Most all of the high end razoo, latest camo pattern stuff is not only stupid expensive but definitely not cotton. It almost all is of some light weight fabric that breathes and empties your wallet

Re: 115g cast bullets for 300 BO

I have the Lee 115 gr RN mold that we have cast and coated several hundred. Originally used in a single shot, both subsonic and super, they worked out fine. When I bought my RARR and tried these stubby little rounds, they just would kinda feed with some finger help. In the AR pistol, they really wil...

Re: Effects of air Temperature on Subsonic load speed

I try to have my heavy subs around the 900 fps spot so I'm good at cool temps around the upper 30's. For the most part this has worked out, seldom am I going to be shooting subs at -20*. I do have some loads that are 7-800 fps but those are a bit slower in the 10.5" AR vs the 16" bolt rifle. Here on...

BTW, Merry Christmas to all you all. I am thankful for HIS birth and the reason for the season. Also thankful to the many fine Americans present here and elsewhere that populate forums such as this. My family has been blessed, best to all in the coming New Year 8)

Re: CFE BLK

Dellet again brings his experience to the forum. I would add that with that particular bullet/powder combo, a magnum primer should give you better SD. I would try both standard and magnum primers. My drop tube is about 14-16" long, used for this and other applications. The data below is about as far...

Re: Merry Christmas to Me

One of my favorite calibers, .22-250 has been part of my life since I was 17yrs young. We have taken critters large and small, a friend has taken a cow Elk every year for most of his life. Head shots at ~ 200 yds with 55 gr SP. My current rifle is a R700, 26" Varmint in the HS Precision stock. Have ...

Re: Stamp question

As I read the law language...the only person I need to show my stamp to is the Sheriff of the County, he is the one that signed my paper work. A ATF agent(now retired) seemed to think that was accurate. Maybe not so, but nobody has ever asked me regarding my can. I have been a tremendously successfu...
