Re: Subsonic setup question

I often suggest to those new to AR's and 300 BLK to begin playing with a bolt gun first. Learn all about what your reloading budget and needs are and spend time learning from the tons of info here and elsewhere. I use my suppressor for a 10.5" pistol and a Ruger American Ranch bolt gun (RARR). My fi...

Re: First outing with my Ruger American 300: ammo, mags

Between myself and a shooting buddy, we have 4 RARR's, 2 each of the 300 BLK and 5.56 calibers. He has began to take some material out the front lip of the magazines to reduce the tilt upward. He has also lightly removed the sharp edge and polished the feed ramp for more reliable feeding of just abo...

Re: RARR subs

No regrets, I really like these little rifles. The magazines are less than perfect, but I don't really have issues to speak of. My AR's are great, but I have always been a bolt gun guy. I apparently bought two good ones, zero firing pin light strike issues and pretty darn awesome accuracy. My 5.56 h...

RARR subs

Finally finished a 5 month long remodel....a trip to the range on the East slope of the Continental Divide(5330 ft). Wind chill brought the temp near zero, but a man has to shoot. So, I tried a new to me bullet: 155 gr .30 cal Missouri coated 4.0 grains of TiteGroup All usual case prep, belling for ...

Re: Has Anyone Experienced This Before...

This case mouth denting is common on 300 BLK AR's. It really is no big deal, as they are usually not hurt enough to be resized. I use a cut down piece of stick on bike tire patch and attach to the face of the brass deflector, where the brass is leaving a mark. It only takes a small piece to attached...

Re: Not very happy with Remington

I would add, using a nylon bore brush covered with a patch pushes thru easier. This has given me visibly better rotation of the cleaning rod, with less slippage, and very accurate twist info.

Re: Quit compromising, raise your standards and have realistic expectations for 300BLK in 2017

Dellet has hit on a point that new hand loaders should note, the 296/H110 sweet spot for 125's is indeed right around 18.6 gr. I also started at 18.3 and it proved to be just slightly more accurate at 100 yds. This and forums like it have daily requests for load data, often with less than realistic ...

Re: reform ?

I would anneal following the initial chop and deburring. Sizing is very smooth then and resulting neck tension will yield some very consistent accuracy results. A light application of sizing lube on the case is all that is needed. I am a frequent visitor here, seldom post on this or other sites. 40 ...

Re: Micro-7 or Ruger American Rifle Ranch?

I have a number of Rem 700 rifles, all awesome shooters. I bought the RARR for a few reasons, chief of which is cost for the fun. After seeing how well some of the American series guns were shooting, the detachable mag, adjustable trigger, and compact size(12.5" LOP), it was nearly half the price of...

Re: Confused... (Update!)

My 16" 1/8 twist, carbine gas AR is very accurate with supers. I never could get that Lee bullet to stabilize, even in my RARR. I think if it was hollow pointed like I've seen someone do, it might be the ticket. I had high hopes for the Lee in the little Ruger, but so far not happy. I am going to ca...
