Re: Does Play between upper and lower and accuracy?

In all of the many builds we've done only one was a challenge in accuracy. The barrel was from a reputable maker, just didn't quite finish up well. The accuracy of almost all basic AR's is at least 1 MOA with good ammo and technique. Two things result in really nice shooting rifles: good barrels and...

Re: Someone please help me understand these numbers!

With 18.6 gr of H110, my OAL is 2.060 and accuracy is very good in bolt and AR. Not chasing velocity but rather accuracy.

Re: Someone please help me understand these numbers!

I found that charges from about 18.6 to 19.5 begin to demonstrate the 'case fill/seating depth/velocity/pressure' effect that Dellet frequently mentions. I am also certain that he knows more about this particular powder and bullet combos than many credible sources. I'm sure he can help with your que...

Wow! How is it you are living my life lessons from the day to day reality episodes of 'You gonna hurt yo self again dummy'. Seriously, I must be a walking injury machine. One cannot do what we did when young and stupid, and yet I persist. Heal up fast and a prayer for your continued safety from furt...

Re: Hornady 190 gr Sub-X load data

I've been working sub loads down in the RARR first. Once they are where I need them to be in velocity, then I know that they will be both truly subsonic and accurate in the 10.5" pistol. Both are 1/8 barrels and pretty dang accurate. OAL was the only thing I encountered that could be a challenge in ...

According to cartridgecollectors.org, the 'T' stamp is most likely Tula of Russia. This stamp had 15 samples, while 2 others had 1 each.

Re: Speer Gold Dot 150 BLK

I also found the LC brass to work very well, though the primer pockets seem to start to get fairly loose after 3 firings of supers. Still usable, just noticed the change, which seems to appear after similar Subs firings. I have a theory...Maybe Dellet can 'splain why that may be. I have used Nosler,...

Re: 300 Wilson Ham’r

I have been seeing and hearing that Alberta Canada, just above our fair state, has a growing pig issue. Someone has allowed escape or other possible excuse. My daughter in law's parents live in Midland, TX, might be a chance to visit and do some critter damage. Now, if Santa had only complied with m...

Re: 300 Wilson Ham’r

djones: Not really hog hunting country up here in MT, but I can see there is certainly a speed/energy/ballistic advantage over the 300BO. I think for most folks, the BLK is a matter of a wide selection of bullet weights and applications. Clearly a more versatile round compared to the Ham'r and 6.8. ...
