Re: Copper fouling with reloads?

Yesterday I received my order of Nosler 190gr Blems for reloading some FMJ subs and I'll tell you what, they are nice. Easy to load and feed well so far. I can't wait to try then with my new saker! After a few hundred hopefully that burr will be gone. I'm picking up some 110gr too next weekend to ru...

Re: PA 1-6x ACSS scope, am I missing something?

Thanks for the reply Bart. I went ahead and bought the PA scope as it was finally in stock but it's the first non-Nikon scope I have. I just didn't like the offerings for 300blk for Nikon. I will say my p-22 rimfire is awesome for my RAR 22lr. I always take the time to input the scope height as I kn...

Re: Copper fouling with reloads?

Sorry, I just didn't want some one to think I was using the palmettos because I mentioned them. I have some FMJs on order scheduled to arrive Saturday and am planning on picking up some 110 or 125 gr FMJ in a week. On a super positive note, I got the call from my dealer! My Saker 762 and Spectre II ...

Re: Copper fouling with reloads?

The palmetto projectiles are hytec coated but I'm using the copper plated extreme 150 gr when I had the problems. I just figure based on the shape of the bullet being similar to the 203 palmettos I might need to seat them deeper as others had problems with the 203s not going completely into battery ...

Re: Copper fouling with reloads?

I loaded the 150 gr xtremes at 8 gr Lil' gun in .5 grain incriments down to 6 gr. My OAL was 2.010" As mentioned before the barrel is 8.2" and everything else but the gas block is standard. The results are as follows: 6 gr Lil'gun Avg:763fps 6.5 gr Lil'gun Avg: 841fps 7 Gr Lil'gun Avg: 946fps 7.5 Gr...

Re: Copper fouling with reloads?

I'm happy to do it if that's what it takes to get this right. Any idea on how many rounds it might take to get things in order?

Re: Copper fouling with reloads?

I can switch the block to a 0.068" setting which was going to be for supers anyway. For clarification I have the MicroMOA Govnah gas block so the plate that slides back and forth can be replaced for like $20 if it ends up being a problem. Currently I have a hole for subs which is large, an off posit...

Re: Copper fouling with reloads?

Alright so my plan will be to resize the next batch I'm going to reload and see if it makes any differance in how they load. Then load and shoot supersonics through it to see if I can't eliminate the copper fouling issue. Do you guys think that supersonic 150gr Xtreme would be an acceptable route or...

Re: Copper fouling with reloads?

I have hornady sizing dyes but the brass is supposed to be ready to load from the company. I was hoping to get the 150s to cycle sub as they are by far the cheapest, the velocity I ended up choosing was right about 1000 fps. But it looks like I'll be after some other option at this point, perhaps Le...

A local manufacturer called Phoenix Tactical. I've emailed them also to see what they say but I like supporting local businesses so I gave them a shot.
