Re: Well crap....

I doubt a Hamr would solve your problem. Many successful casting stories and experiences in this forum. Maybe it's your build, or barrel, seeing as as most folks choose bargain basement crap these days. I would hardly blame the cartridge because you cant get it to shoot. Experienced caster is great ...

Re: Black bear and humming bird feeder??

That's a bear dude, no doubt. Keep doors closed to home when you out fiddling in the yard. Use stouter poles and pick up a game camera.. Be careful, Black bears are extending their range in NC. There are regular sightings in Catawba, Lincoln, Gaston and Alexander counties. I see no reason why they w...

Re: Recipe for Speer 125gr TNT

I would definitely experiment with loading longer for your single shot rifle. For supersonic loading you stand to dramatically improve performance on game. I appreciate that! I will try that. For a single shot I would seat about .080-.100" of bullet in the neck, or .010" off the lands, whichever is...

You mention accuracy issue but didn't post group size change. Is it really an accuracy issue or is it a point of impact shift?
Yes, answer this question please.

Re: Why are firearms with the "Colt" name so expensive?

The new Colt Python is a shadow of the custom shop hand fitted pistol of the 70's. Still, as much as people place value on the Colt and Python brand, the SW 19 from the era will out shoot them IMO. I've had a few Colts, sold an Anaconda last year, fairly rare one - 4 inch in 45 colt. I'll keep my 19...

Re: IMR 4227 for supers and subs???

I use CCI magnums only. I had to switch once with a long chambered bolt gun. Went with WRP because they were soft, worked every time. Sent that rifle down the road. My CZ hits CCI magnums just fine. BTW I try to keep bolt action/single shot brass separated from AR brass.

Re: Buying a gun - No CCW?

Plant, dellet is correct. As certain places in MI have killed that convenience for you, any corrupt big city government could do that for any state. Giving mobsters and gangbangers CCW's with rap sheets a half mile long is not new, if it's widespread enough the BATFE has a job to do. In this case, r...

Re: Bear Creek Arms upper

BCA is the retail operation for same folks who make "AR STONER" private label stuff for midway... just a different label on the product. weather or not that gives you any boost in confidence is a different story :) hth Plant, I think AR Stoner is what old Larry can get at a deal. When I built my 6x...
