Re: Hodgdon Lil Gun

I have dropped Lil Gun as well, but for different reasons.
A) It generates more heat than any other powder I use. Noticeably hotter barrels and other parts.
B) Documented cases of instability (pressure spikes/valleys) at low temperatures - Below 30 degrees ambient temperature.

Re: What works?

My favorite is the Speer 125 gr TNT.
Only slightly outside you range. If your gun likes 110 gr, the Nosler 110 gr Varmageddon may be for you.

Re: Help with short stroke...

I like to break in with cheap 125 gr - 150gr...what ever i can get my hands on. I have a bunch of Remington and Freedom Arms I use for this purpose. After 50 or so factory rounds, I switch over to my handloads.

Re: Help with short stroke...

I like to break in with a fairly wet BCG. This does not go well with a suppressor, but that isn't necessary for break in.

Re: Help with short stroke...

Lube and a couple hundred more rounds? Sounds like it needs a good break-in.

Re: Wolf Small Rifle Magnum Primers were the only ones I could get. How do i adjust my loads?

They'll be fine. If you have a proven load you use, back down a half grain and load up a ladder for verification. If you are starting from a published load, start a little lower, then work up as normal. Most of the difference in small rifle magnum primers is in cup thickness rather than burn.

Re: Newbie barrel threading question

Mostly alignment...weight...changes to barrel harmonics...another set of threads to come loose...where would you like me to stop?
