einey-meiny-miney-mo "hey that looks good" reload testing with 296. with a published max charge of 17.5 grains for that bullet. got it.

please remind me to never sit next to you at the shooting range.

Thanks Simjosh1. Shot off my handloads this morning. Didn’t give details on powder charge, was at approx 18 grains of W296 . Didnt print too great - 2 moa at best, but Im happy with it. I’ll have to continue to tinker. Maybe lower powder charge to 17.5 grains..... did you do a full workup to get to...

as rebel noted.. without an OAL/CBTO measurement along with brass info its going to be hard to know if 20.6 gr really is a hot load or just a load starting to warm up. when dealing with H110 - case fill % is critial info... its not a powder that tends to play nice when compressed much. as you've fou...

with a 0.125" gas port you're for sure going to want the adjustable gas block. even with a carbine length systme thats going to be WAY over gassed for supers. as dellet mentioned, 0.070 or even a 0.080 would have served you much better overall - especially if you were to go suppressed in the future....

Unfortunately those are the 120 grain bullets. Am looking for the 110 grain bullets. Thanks though.

i think the most practical way to build a bolt action ar is to use a right hand side charger and either special order a barrel without a gas port, or leave your gas tube off and turn an adjustable gas block to completely closed. or with a regular block, install it backwards (port facing forward) to ...
