Re: AAC Micro 7 vs Rem 700 SPS: Which would you pick?

I've never had an issue with any of the (17) 700's that I've owned over the years but I've always used conventional primers. If you like CCI try some 400's or the magnum 450's. Glad to hear the Berry's 150's are working well for you. I've got a couple boxes of Hornady bullets of the same type. I'll ...

Re: AAC Micro 7 vs Rem 700 SPS: Which would you pick?

Okay, I think I'm going to go for the 700 SPS. Next question... Recommendations on a light stock and bottom metal for detachable mags? I use the HS Precision Remington LTR stocks whenever I can buy like new take-offs. You can buy the same stock new. I've got (3) 700's with them now and I'm happy wi...

Re: 9th Edition Hornady Manual

Yes, Hornady makes a great manual. Another publication worth purchasing is "The ABC's of Reloading". Not sure of its still in print, however, it's a great resource as well.

Re: AAC Micro 7 vs Rem 700 SPS: Which would you pick?

You got to get that load out to 100 yds. right away. lol Glad to hear you're thinking outside the box a little and trying some not-so-standard loads. That's truly where a bolt gun will shine as far as flexibility goes. Keep up the good work. I'll be watching your posts with a great deal of interests...

Re: AAC Micro 7 vs Rem 700 SPS: Which would you pick?

The stock is the likely culprit for the flyers. While the Hogue is nice to the touch, it has a tendency to be far too flexible in the forearm area which could come onto contact with the barrel and the plastic munting surface could easily use pillar bedding and a skim job of bedding compond to improv...

Re: Why doesn't TC build a dimension in 300 AAC

I can easily think of several different manufacturers that would be better candidates than TC who would likely have greater commercial success with the 300 BLK in a bolt gun.

Barnes M/LE TAC bullet differences?

I see on Barnes site they offer (2) distinct bullet choices for "black tips" but there is little to no information as to what the differences actually are. I understand that the emphasis on this site has been on the 110gr. TAC-TX (#30811) bullet, however, Barnes also lists another 300 Blackout bulle...

Re: Barrel twist, 1:8 or 1:7? Or perhaps 1:7,5?

1:8" has been good for the last 30 years, I doubt much has changed now. In fact, J.D. Jones's initial subsonic work was performed with 250gr. SMK bullets so I'm sure 240's are going to be just fine. As I understand it, 1:7" was chosen as an added "extra" measure of reliability for subsonic use. Pac-...

Re: AAC Micro 7 vs Rem 700 SPS: Which would you pick?

^^^ Best review I've read so far. Thanks, for your input! What about the pics now? You can't possibly pass up an opportunity to post a pic of your new rifle with a suppressor mounted, could you? Regarding the magazine. Is it a .223 Rem. mag or a .17FB mag? There is a difference between the...
