I have gobs of .223 brass, so since it’s free it’s worth the effort. I have to say the brass seems to last forever once converted. Now I just cut the raw .223 down, chamfer it, size it, do the final trim, done. It doesn’t need to be fire formed to be accurate either, plus they hold my favorite load ...

I know this is an old thread but my response is to the guy tearing necks off while converting .223 brass. I have been converting the .223 brass for the ham’r and this is what works for me. I tumble the raw brass, anneal the neck/shoulder, spray down the cases with Hornady case lube, lightly is fine ...
