Re: 300 whisper sub-sonic bullets
I'm not sure what information is needed,,,, but what I want is a sub-sonic, non-lead, hunting load. First off I need to figure what bullet to use and work out from there. The less noise made while whacking piggies, the more of them you can get before they scatter.

300 whisper sub-sonic bullets
I'm having trouble finding a NON-lead 300 bullet. Does anybody have a suggestion or better yet a favorite bullet brand?

Re: Ruger American Ranch 300BLK - Magazine options?
That's what I would do. It's 20 bucks for the new mag well and 6 bucks shipping. I had it in a few days. Your still going to need a magazine if you don't have a couple extras laying around. Having to put tape on the supplied mags to get the bullets to feed is a bunch of crap. It seems the ones that ...

Re: Ruger American Ranch 300BLK - Magazine options?
It's Ruger # DBA10451-FDE I don't think it on their order website. I had to make multiple calls before they would tell me that it was a replacement that they would SELL you for the lousy AR style mag well that came with my rifle. What I would like to find is an aftermarket AI style mag instead of th...

Ruger American Ranch load development
I finally got the feed issues with my new RAR sorted out by ditching the AR style magazine well. I did a barrel break in period followed by about 20 or so plinking shots all with copper Barnes and Hornady bullets. My development started at 16.6 grains of H110 and topped out at 20 grains. all the loa...

Re: Ruger American Ranch 300BLK - Magazine options?
A quick follow up,,, I received the "adapter" magazine well for the AI style mags and the gun feeds beautifully. Barrel breakin completed and load development is going OK. I'll start a new thread on that.

Re: Ruger American Ranch 300BLK - Magazine options?
HAH! No I don't take it wrong. First I have to say that my descriptive writing skills suck. Maybe some clarification on the problem. With the plastic magazines they sit so low in the well that the cartridge actually hits about 1/4-3/8" BELOW the feed ramp. They run into a flat wall so to speak ...

Re: Ruger American Ranch 300BLK - Magazine options?
I had tried a couple different mags, P-Mag ATC Mag-Pull. They are all sloppy as can be. The all metal ATC was the tightest fit but still not acceptable. I sent Ruger CS an email telling them of the issue following up on the call I had made to them. Their reply email was surprising that My rifle was ...

Re: Ruger American Ranch 300BLK - Magazine options?
I just got my RAR Saturday. I wish it was the old style. The new style with the AR type mags is sloppy. The cartridges hit below the feed ramp. Ruger is sending a new magazine well as that could be the problem I hope. The Pmag that came with it doesn't fit any better or worse than some others I have...
