Difference velocity first shot
Hi, I have a 300blk Ruger, I found a very accuarate load with a hornady 208 eld-m bullet and 10.9grs of n120, lapua case, federal gm205 primer oal 61,50mm. My problem is that the first and always the first shot (suppressed) is always faster than the others. Example: 1 shot: 308 m / s 2 shots: 295 m ...

Re: Ruger RARR 300blk and Sierra 230gr matcking
Another question: I read that with the suppressor the first shot and always the first one is faster than the others.
An example:
308 m / s
295 m / s
296m / s
Tested with many types of bullets and powders, the first shot is always faster.
What's the reason?

Re: Ruger RARR 300blk and Sierra 230gr matcking
Yes, I'm loading single shots on Ruger Bolt action. The length of the ammunition that I tried does not fit in the magazine of the RARR, I will have to make the modification to the magazine 8) Have you ever tried the 225grs Hornady ELD with the N120? Is accurate that the 208? I think the 208 is a goo...

Re: Ruger RARR 300blk and Sierra 230gr matcking
@Dellet: thank you very much for your help. I'm waiting for the 230 Sierra to be shipped, alternatively I tested the Hornady 208 ELD-M at 75mt, 3 shots 0,5cm, very well! The load is: Lapua case federal gm205m N120 x 10.6grs Hornady 208 ELD-M OAL: 61.20mm (lenght of cartdrige is for non-compressed lo...

Re: Ruger RARR 300blk and Sierra 230gr matcking
I will certainly let you know as soon as I bring them. Has anyone tried the lehigh 210grs controlled fracturing or the hornady 225grs eld-m in the RARR? My goal is subsonic hunting at 100 and 200m, at the moment I'm using long bullets for the tumbling effect, the lehight 194grs in my RARR is not acc...

Ruger RARR 300blk and Sierra 230gr matcking
Has anyone tried the sierra 230gr matchking bullet with the RARR with 1-7 twist?
I am looking for the best subsonic precision at 100m and at the moment the sierra 240gr are the best with n120 powders.
Best regards
