Re: Speer Gold Dot 150 BLK
Greg I loaded 21.5gr of cfeblk at 2.204coal for my 10.5" barrel. I'm getting getting 1" and under at 100yrds. 21grs was almost identical. I'm not sure I can shoot much better than that with such a light gun and milspec trigger. It's really just for proof of concept because I'm just going ...

Annealing neck tension
Does annealing help maintain neck tension? I'm coming up on the 4th round of reloading 556 cut downs without annealing, and it seems like the bullet slides in real easy like that ol girl at the bar. Does it really make a difference?

Re: Lockdown loading
Some good projects going on around here. I've been loading my 150gr gold dot loads(finally came in stock again) and some 208gr Hornady subs. Got about 200 more of the gold dots and I'm moving on. Have some Sierra 150gr game kings I'm itching to try with some BLC-2 in my 308 bolt action Savage. I'm r...

Re: Changing col increments
I got lucky on the subs. First round of trials made 3 loads, the middle load cut holes at 50yrds and cycled the rifle. I'm happy with that for playing around. It doesn't always lock the bolt back on last round but I don't really care, it's nothing serious

Re: Lockdown loading
My range is private outdoor also, but 95% who use it shoot skeet. There's only about 5 people who shoot rifles regularly or seriously. Me and my Dad go together and usually have it to ourselves. Not reloading but I did some organizing and found a bunch of cci 450s and BR4s I didn't know I had. Score...

Lockdown loading
Anybody else playing around with some different loadings instead of being bored? Any caliber. At least the rifle range is still open. We just keep a bench between us. Not like a lot of people are showing up anyway. 2 at most

Re: Changing col increments
It feels like it takes a year sometimes when you get a stubborn one lol I've always gotten my best loads in 308win using Varget or BLC-2 with Br2 primers. I've never used this IMR4895 with any real success on anything but 22-250. Probably going to shitcan the whole thing soon, I have some 150gr sier...

Re: Changing col increments
I did 46 gr of imr 4895 and it was too hot. Vertical string like a mofo. This last try was 45.5gr that shot the 1.2 group and it kind of looks like it may be a hair slow, like a grape cluster or small buck shot pattern. So I can try 45.7 or 8 to see if it's any better. I'm using CCI 200 because I ha...

Re: Changing col increments
OK I'll try .005, that seems like a very minute change but I guess once you get much longer I might have to up the charge. That's all I wanted was some opinions on what other people have done. you really don't need to know any of that other stuff to give a simple answer. If you wanna just talk about...

Changing col increments
At what increments should I start lengthening my cartridge by to see a difference?
