Re: Hornady 190gr Sub-X Load Development
Dialing down on the failure to feed. I bought a few new magpul 300 blkout specific mags, tested, no improvement. So I then bought 300 blkout specific Lancer mags... Again no improvement. The good news is that I'm stocked up on mags though! Interesting that the misfeed typically seems to occur on the...

Re: Hornady 190gr Sub-X Load Development
Small world... I just got back from the range shooting my first sub-x development loads. Similar set up, I'm running an integrally suppressed Daniels Defense with 9" barrel. Also using VV N120 but using new Nosler Brass. Heck we even came up with the same COL at 2.07. I use Federal Small Rifle ...

Re: Load Catalog: Subsonic, All other Powders and Bullets
Guys I think I figured out my N120 issue comments from my load development posting a few posts back. Well when I say issue it's not a deal breaker type of issue just not ideal. Anyway, I put a new primer in a fired case and loaded the 11.4 grains, then dropped in one of the 208 gr Hornady 208 ELD M...

Full Length sizing die struggles
Well with roughly 500 once fired casings I figured it time to clean and resize. My standard work flow is decap with my Forster Co-Ax press Run through a 20 min cycle in my sonic cleaner using Hornady One Shot Sonic Cleaner solution Dry in my food dehydrator Lube using the home brew case lube, as des...

Re: New Reloader with detailed COL numbers looking for double check
Thanks for the input dellet! I have no intention of not doing the full workup math on any round development and I'll always know where things are in relationship to the lands, if I came across as sounding like that it wasn't my intent. I will always invest the 15 minutes with each new bullet and the...

Re: New Reloader with detailed COL numbers looking for double check
VERY New to reloading and being in my mid fifties I’m disappointed I waited this long. The number of rabbit holes to go down is amazing! So, being a bit older I enjoy trying to apply logic to things but there are plenty of times when I discover I’m not as smart as I think I am. XXX XXX XXX XXX So, ...

Re: Effects of air Temperature on Subsonic load speed
Altitude change will change the velocity of the round. With increased elevation there is lower air density which will allow for an increase the velocity of the bullet everything else being equal. Altitude can’t be ignored as a contributing variable to a subsonic load. Similar effect as increasing t...

Effects of air Temperature on Subsonic load speed
As I'm working up different subsonic loads for bulk reloading I'm beginning to wonder how much of a speed increase may occur if I develop/test a load in 40 degree weather and then shoot it on a 100 degree day. I've found an accuracy and speed node but it's not too far from going supersonic (50 fps +...
