Re: Chrono Opinions
I really liked my ProChrono DLX - App was super convenient and allows you to label each string.. Made keeping track of data AT the range so much easier. My issues (which by all means could be user error!) was that I had to set up at noon in the middle of a field. So I got crazy reflection readings. ...

Re: Barrel mfg - length?
That's completely subjective and depends on how much you value quiet, velocity, length. There is no wrong answer. My opinion, worth what you're paying, is 11"-12". Yea I gets its subjective. Asked because I'd like to know others factor's in their decision to go X length. I'll check out a ...

Barrel mfg - length?
I've gotta 8.3" ballistic Advantage premium barrel currently on my ar15.. I've been doing a ton of thinking and just want to go ahead with another upper build. So far.. I'm stuck on 10" minimum - handloading I'm lacking some additional FPS on a couple loads. Daniel Defense - 10.3" Fax...

Re: Best affordable reloading scale
Pretty much that node comment earlier is what your looking for. Optimal Charge Weight method is used to find the barrels accuracy node... by shooting groups looking for vertical dispersion - Once you shoot a ladder you'll notice 3 or so separate groups on average all group within the same vertical p...

Re: Best affordable reloading scale
Yea. It'll still use the same strain gauge style load cell your used to using.. So it will drift some but its a bit more accurate and has the benefit of trickling the load automatically.. Probably 600-700$ more for the entire fx120 auto throw and trickler equipment (over an rcbs ) I personally went ...

Re: Best affordable reloading scale
You can buy just the trickler or both.. Think it's around 1000$ all in maybe a little less. (Scale, thrower and trickler) Powder throw goes on top of the scale and drops straight into the cup. Generally you set it 1-2gn under target weight, then it trickles up the rest. I can get around 50 charges t...

Re: Best affordable reloading scale
Definitely not in the affordable category.. but I went with a FX120i... After that I went down the rabbit hole and got an autotrickler / throw v3 setup and absolutely love it. That setup is not needed... I'll probably never take full advantage of it - which long range shooters tend to get them but i...

Re: Compressed Loads, A5744
Been struggling to find informative discussions on this subject here or in other forums. Consensus on compressed loads seems to be: "Compression is OK. A little is good. Too much is bad." (I'll concede perhaps my web search techniques are lacking.) Can anyone provide some guidance and exp...

Re: Ring around bullet when using hornady bullet seating die
It should end up 2.11 OAL. That depends on brass volume. What about base to ogive for 125sst? Just out of curiosity for when I pick up a comparator. Take 10 and load at whatever your COAL was with the bullet resting on the powder in a fired case. Whats the best way of knowing when the bullet is res...
