Is shooting a 300 BO through a .40 pistol can OK

One of my first suppressors was a Yankee Hill Cobra M2 in .40 pistol can. Bought it 12-14 years ago. It is a heavy steel stake driver of a can. One of my 300 BOs is a heavy barrel bolt gun so weight is not an issue. My gut feeling is as long as the caliber is larger than the bullet I would be OK. An...

Re: Ruger No1

I have a Ruger #1 in .223, so I know that they made them at one time. Whether they will in the future is anyone's guess, as most are now a one run proposition through Lipsey's, with different cartridges featured each year. As was mentioned, the problem with a rebarrel is timing the extractor cut. A...

Re: Muzzle to Handguard Clearance

I hope you have a short wait. I think the best way to handle it is to expect a long wait, maybe a year, then if it shows up in 6 months you can be happy about it. It's still unconstitutional, but happy nonetheless that the wait wasn't the expected year. All the legal, needles hoops we have to go th...

Re: 300 blk optics

I have a 300 Black build going. Likely use the EOTech HWS 300 Blackout. Has both subsonic and supersonic settings. I have one of those. I have to reload for each dot and range. You cannot sight in for your favorite super and drop to a sub and use the underneath dot, or at least I cannot. Holdover c...

Re: Moving to new permanent address

I called ATF today at the 304 number. The lady I talked to said I did not legally need to fill out a new form 5320.20 or any other form for moving from one county to another in NC. She said a lot of people do for their own protection. We did not discuss what the reasons were. I suspect it has to do ...

Re: Moving to new permanent address

golfindia,

I have searched the internet and cannot find the form you referenced on ATF site. I want to do it right. My cans are on an older, before 41f, trust created by a attorney that specialized in firearms law. Can you PM me a link or copy of the form you mentioned?

Re: Moving to new permanent address

golfindia, I was not responding to you. We all have to live with what we learn. My point was directed to Hollywood, and the public in general. Just ask a none-gun neighbor or in some cases LE or a politician what they think about suppressors. I didn't expect anyone to be paranoid about it and take i...

Re: Moving to new permanent address

The research I have done led me to believe that since my move was in the same state no ATF correction was necessary.

It would save a lot of confusion if the general public, and LE did not get their knowledge about suppressors from watching old gangster movies on TV.

Re: Accuracy problems with suppressor

My ARs came with a rubber "O" ring for the flash hider. I had to take it off when using a can. It is really easy to get a crushed "O" ring and have an alignment issue. As mentioned, it doesn't take much to get an alignment issue.

Re: Ruger No1

I already have 2 suppressors that I use on my other 300 BO rifles. Definitely need a threaded barrel. I don't know that I have seen one in a .223. Need scope mounts too. Another thought. If the barrel would come off like a single shot shotgun, barrel change would be simple and quick. Could have a 22...
