Re: Speer Gold Dot 150 BLK
Quickload is only as accurate as the data entered, garbage in, garbage out. Or in this case, garbage in, primer pops out, or worse. When I enter JBM’s numbers and use default settings, I get the same 80,000+ psi prediction with a load density of about 110%. When I drop 23.5 grains of 1680 into my p...

Re: Speer Gold Dot 150 BLK
About 2250....Temp around 60 deg. Don't know how much velocity you lose below 20 deg. They have an impressive fireball in low light.....lol Rebel sent you a pm Nice. I just started testing SOCOM powder. Don't believe I could quite match your velocity without seeing pressure signs, but so far 3 roun...

Re: 110gr ZMAX Failure to Fire only first round
Dellet makes a good point... While it might be wise to look into another brand of die, I think you do have another problem. I would encourage you to continue working to resolve it, as it will be a great learning experience and rewarding. I believe Dellet to be far more experienced than me at reloadi...

Re: 110gr ZMAX Failure to Fire only first round
Fully cleaned and resized using all lee dies with two or three passes with the resizing die. lee resizing dies are NOT forming dies . get a hornady, or RCBS, or forster, etc brand die and try forming them again. i bet you'll have much better luck in the future. I can agree with this... As a general...

Re: 110gr ZMAX Failure to Fire only first round
Well, I've got a few questions... Did you cut and size the brass yourself? Also, I assume since you said it was American Eagle, that it is LC brass? If not, I would check the case wall thickness. Did the primer pocket have a crimp, and if so how did you remove it? What dies are you using? Small base...

Re: Can't get 150gr GD to sit still
While I'm definitely not the most experienced reloader in the world, here are a couple of thoughts I had that haven't been mentioned. You may have had them already, but I'll throw them out there anyway. Double check that your case mouths are not lubed from your sizing process, they should be nice an...

Re: factory ammo recommendation
For subsonic, I would definitely recommend Discreet Ballistics. A couple of nice things they do are 1) they have different loads for short barrels and 16" barrels, 2) they have a ballistic matched target load, and 3) I think they have one of the best subsonic projectiles available. If running t...

Re: Speer Gold Dot 150 BLK
Wow! Am I seeing that right?? That's less than 1/4moa at 200 yards. That is astonishing for a 300 blackout IMO. Is that the factory 300blk 700, or a custom one? Very nice job! I've got some 1680 coming today, which is the last piece of the puzzle for me to start experimenting. This makes me really e...

Re: Dual Optics
I ran a T1 on a 45 deg Larue, offset to an ACOG 4x32 for a while. I thought it superfluous. I could see how that might be somewhat superfluous, being only 4x magnification. The scope on this rifle is a 4-16 ffp, so on 4x the reticle is very thin and not very fast to acquire. I usually keep the scop...

Dual Optics
So I was wondering... How many of you run dual optic setups on your rifles? I recently set up a more precision oriented AR, but didn't want to sacrifice short range capability, so it has an offset Aimpoint. I think this is a cool concept, and the Aimpoint doesn't add significant weight. I've also se...
