Re: Belling case mouth.
I think the reference to the 30 carbine you’re thinking of is for the Lyman M die. They make other 30s but the carbine version works best for BLK.

Re: Speer Gold Dot 150 BLK
Be aware Speer is making two different 150g GD bullets in 308. Only one of them is 300BLK specific and is designed to expand at the lower velocity.

Re: Speer Gold Dot 150 BLK
I don’t think it has anything for lot variations, at least I haven’t seen anything. The “b factor” is a mystery and may be part of the problem. The Combustion Coefficient seems to have the greatest effect. If I bring it down to 0.8 I get reasonable numbers. Also, I don’t have the data for 1680. It c...

Re: Speer Gold Dot 150 BLK
I’m using 24.1 grains of water. That’s measured in a converted LC trimed to 1.358”. I messed with the bullet “coating” but abandoned it because I thought the tool would think it was powder coated, and that seems like it would be worse than the STD jacketed type. I’ll try some other settings for the ...

Re: Speer Gold Dot 150 BLK
It says... KABOOM! Nice MV though.
It only has generic D063, so maybe that’s the problem.

Re: Speer Gold Dot 150 BLK
It was set to 8”. The tip of the bullet in the case drawing is pointing to that field. It seems like most of the data I enter is coming out on the hot side, some of it way hot... except fot the VV powders.

Re: Speer Gold Dot 150 BLK
Has anyone played with Gordons Reloading Tool? It’s an free (beta) alternative to QL, but it has a pretty limited powder database. http://www.grtools.de It does have a bunch of Lovex & VV powders though, so I was looking at some 150GD loads to see how it compares to the data I could gather from ...
