Re: 300 Black Out Large Lead Bullet Reliability
Good to know about the powder. I tried 4227 and stuck with it but it seams somewhat dirty. May I ask what others may use? Sure I could grab a reloading book and see 10 samples but, whats anyone on there "best success" stories?

Re: 300 Black Out Large Lead Bullet Reliability
Man that is good to know. I did order a Magpul gen 2 or 3 300 BO mag... Wish it would come in. Was using the standard mags as mentioned and did a little grinding on them to get them to work half a__. You shooting out of a short barrel and pistol length gas port? What is NOE? Will have to ask or foll...

I have been trying to sling 245 gr from Missouri Bullet Company and 265 gr from ACME Bullet Company at pigs through my SBR for a while. Constantly have some sort of feed is...

Re: 245 go lead in SBR AR load help
Always lots of variables. Without knowing exactly how the rifle is set up and exact load data, it's impossible to say. First thing on low velocity is the data is for a 16" barrel, so it will be slow. The problem is that if the load will cycle a 16" barrel it should cycle a 10". That'...

Re: 245 go lead in SBR AR load help
Little follow up.... Ok, my chronograph was down so I was able to find a loaner from a buddy. Quickly found that my rounds were cycling at 900 fps on average. Lucky for me my reloading bench is handy so I worked my way up in reloads until I am consistent close to 1050 fps. Gun started cycling consis...

Re: 245 go lead in SBR AR load help
Op may be working the load up, instead of down??? This statement confused me.... Can you explain with a little more detail? Generally when working a subsonic load you work backwards compared to supers. With supers you work up to a pressure, subs you work down to a velocity. If you start too low wit...

Re: 245 go lead in SBR AR load help
The only way a faster powder will help, is if the bullet is undersized and the higher pressure deforms the bullet helping it seal at the base. One of the problems with a lot of commercial cast bullets is they're too hard and small, and will not obdurate with a typical AR sub load. The Missouri bull...
