Re: Depriming/resizing issues with decapping pin. Need help!

Are the primers crimped in? Would be weird for 300BLK brass to have that. Are the primer flash holes centered? Are the cases sitting centered and squarely on the shellholder? I seem to recall that at least on a Lee Turret press, they suggest that the shellholder slot to insert the case be turned 90 ...

Re: Brass condition question

Do you know someone with a tumbler? They might be willing to run it for you. I have read about some home-made case cleaning solutions, so you might try googling that. Just soaking them in a solution, rinsing, and hand-wiping might help. It might not be worth keeping the brass. But if the dry tumblin...

Re: Ruger American Ranch

Assume your Ranch is 300 BLK. Though I have used various 556 AR mags in them and they worked fine, Ive got dedicated 300 BLK mags. Mostly for identifying them as 300 instead of 556 to avoid kabooms. Plus they are built slightly differently than 556 so they feed the fatter 300 bullet better. D&H has ...

Re: Ammo shortage

Got on my local gun store's email list. Every week or so they get 9mm pallet. It's gone the day they post the ammo availability. Shelves of handgun ammo are 95% bare: some 38 expensive stuff and 17HMR and occasionally 45ACP and 223. I've not even checked their 300 BO as I have enough for what little...

Re: My gun won't feed hollow points

When you say won't feed, does it not pick up the bullet at all or does the round get jammed halfway in? Does your bolt ever fail to lock back on last round, like you might be getting a short stroke, though I usually only see that with heavier bullets than yours. But your 19g of H110 seems fast enoug...

Re: PSD Primer Pockets

Sounds like the brass has a primer crimp that has to be removed. A lot of military brass has it and if yours is marked as something other than 223, then that's your problem. You can usually eyeball to confirm this: there will be an embossed circle around the primer hole (the crimp). There are cheap ...

Re: Case length gauge for 300 ??

These are full-dimension case gauges, not just length: Brownells has Lyman. https://www.brownells.com/reloading/measuring-tools/case-gauges-headspace-tools/rifle-case-length-headspace-gauges-prod55081.aspx I've also used gauges from Wilson and Sheridan. All have worked very well. +1 on Sheridan slot...

Re: question about seating dies

I've loaded some Berry's, though not those. A couple of things: Depending on the seating die used, you MIGHT get a circular ring impression on the nose of the round. I've heard that it does not effect the accuracy, and I've not seen any difference: YMMV. If the ring happens and you want to get rid o...
