Re: Hornady 190 gr Sub-X load data

I don't have a chronograph so I can't measure velocity, but 9.7 grains of 4227 didn't load another round in my 10.5" 300 BLK pistol. If I put my suppressor on it very well may cycle properly. I was out hunting on a friend's property and only had a couple of minutes to shoot off a few rounds before w...

Re: Talk me into or out of a Rebel SOS Hunter Gen II

Thanks. A list of good suppliers vs ones which are legally dubious would be helpful. Is there a maker of k baffles or undrilled monolithic core? Freeze plugs seem both heavy and shoddy to me. There are sources for K baffles, you just need to search around. The freeze plugs are probably slightly hea...

Re: Talk me into or out of a Rebel SOS Hunter Gen II

There's a rather good discussion regarding building a suppressor using a Form 1 here: https://www.texaschlforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=87&t=80252& I think the supplier referenced for the end caps got shut down by BATFE for some #$%*%@! reason, but there are other places to find them if you search just ...

Re: Bullet Recommendation?

I'm using Hornady 110 grain SP bullets with H110 powder. I don't have a chronograph, but supposedly they run at about 2400fps. They don't have enough Oomph! to pass through a large hog. Shot placement is of some importance, as it probably is with any bullet out of a 300 BLK.

Hog Down !!

Several things conspired to keep me from hunting in the latter part of 2019, but I finally made it out the first week of December 2019 and managed to get a 140# sow. https://youtu.be/bv1Ks2LcGF0 Rifle is a Radical Firearms upper with 16" barrel on a custom lower receiver. Bullet was a Hornady 110 gr...

Re: First Hog of 2019

Is that the first Hog you've shot with that round? Just curious as to your preferred 300BLK load for hogs. I'm shooting 110 grain Hornady bullets. I used VMAX for a while, but decided for my purposes the 110 grain SP bullets were just as effective and they're cheaper. I'm shooting 20 grains of H110...

Re: cooking triumph!!!

Nice!

I'm working on learning to make Kolaches myself. It's a challenge, and it's not doing my diet much good, either!

I've kind of given up (at least for now) figuring out how to make the perfect biscuit. Of course, to me perfect means the recipe isn't too complicated …

I think the letter posted in the original message above is outdated. First Hog of 2019

Finally caught up with a hog. They've been rooting up pastures and various lanes all over the place where I hunt, but they've been elusive. I found this boar munching black walnuts under a tree in a field about 3½ hours after sundown. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IlLiCrHV1dg 300 Blackout shooting...
