I ran 3 more across the chrony and got 1052, 1040 1046.
Btw I use cci 400 primers. Still at 9.7 grains 8.3 barrel, got lock back on the last round. I have drilled the gas port out to .109 iirc.
I had it at the rage last week no issues with super ammo.

Re: Hornady 190 gr Sub-X load data
i use a beam scale, and check it with an electronic. The beam scale is always more accurate, but I dont have a super expensive electronic one.
I like the beam scale as I can see what its doing as i add powder.

Re: Hornady 190 gr Sub-X load data
Okay follow, and why use work down and use a chrony. 10 grains of 4227 is 1116 fps, extreme spread was 3, two where the same fps 9.7 grains was 1018-1021. Its funny how 10.5 grains was 1160, 10 grains was 1116 or a little over 40 fps then 9.7 was 1018 so a .3 grain was 100 fps. Load length for those...

Re: Hornady 190 gr Sub-X load data
Ok first I did drill the gas port out to .102 and it did not lock back. Bumped it up to .107 I get full cycle but not lock back. Gun is dry I need to lube it that may make a difference also the temp is low 30s. Gun is a 8.3 I think a cmmg barrel factory port was right under .1 So at 10.5 velocity is...

Re: Hornady 190 gr Sub-X load data
I should be getting 300 sub x bullets in the mail today and I need to work up some loads. I have h110, and 4227 on hand and will start with 4227 as its what I load 95% of my 300blk with. My current barrel on my 300 is an 8.3 iirc, it does not cycle fully with the loads that work in my 10.5 barrel. I...
