Re: All around bullet?

The Speer 130 gr HP is a good bullet. I use it for practice loads in 308 and 30-06 with a minimum charge of almost any suitable powder. Never used it on game. I would call Speer and ask about expansion at 300 BO velocities. Or, get a 9mm AR15 and suppressor. The 147 gr HP bullets are designed to wor...

Had that same problem. Got the Hornady seating die with the sliding sleeve. That fixed the problem. That die seats the bullet straight.

Re: what case trimmers do you use

The Lyman Ezee Trim is cheap and can be used with a drill. I am going to get a small drill press from Harbor Freight. Then a 3way carbide trimmer from RCBS and a drill press base from Forster. Set it up on the press and just put the case in the base, run the trimmer down and you get a trimmed and ch...

Re: Different data from Hodgdon, Hornady and Lymans. Which data am I supposed to go with?

Lyman also has an AR-15 Reloading Handbook. With the Hornady 150 gr 30 cal FMJ-BT at 2.075 OAL, the start load of H110/WW296 is 15.5 at 1926 fps. This is what I use and the velocity is very close. Accurate and about all the speed you need with this bullet. Functioning with this load is 100% in three...

Re: Wolf 300 Blackout Ammo 145 gr

Went to the range yesterday.

The 145 gr Wolf ammo averaged 1915 fps. 16 inch barrel. All rounds were within 5 fps of each other.

Groups at 1.5 inches at 50 yards with a 3x Primary Arms scope.

Looks good to go.

Cases are Berdan primed.

Cost was $.48 a round before shipping.

Re: Berry's plated 150 gr bullet

I recently loaded up some of the 30-30 RS bullets with a start load of WW296. COL was set at 1.950. Perfect feeding and function.

Also tried 1.900 and it worked with my AR just fine.

Re: Wolf 300 Blackout Ammo 145 gr

Cost on the ammo was $.48 a round. I also saw some for 500 rounds at $399.00. Shot some of the ammo at the range last Thursday. All functioned and seemed normal power. Went into 3 inches at 100 yards, with a 3x scope that was new to me. I was unable to chrono it that day. Will report more from the n...

Re: New to reloading / questions

For a cartridge gauge. I like the Lyman. For various reasons, here is what I use: RCBS Small Base sizer with the expander ball removed. Lyman "M" die to expand the neck. Hornady Bullet Seater. Lee Factory Collet Crimp for a light crimp. For a trimmer, the Lyman EZEE Trim works well. You al...

I have received the ammo. Ran 40 rounds through the gauge and all OK.

Will be going to the range Wednesday and will report.
