Re: Finally a Hog!

Nice setup, nice pig. Looks like a great hunt. I am more than a little jealous.

Re: Chrono Opinions

Budget minded, I bought a Chrony Beta. It works about 3/4 of the shots. The interface reminds of Basic programs I wrote in high school in the '70's.

It will get you the data you need, but certainly not reliably or with any style.

Re: Talk me into or out of a Rebel SOS Hunter Gen II

I have one, and an original SOS556, and a handful of SOS22's. I also have some much more expensive cans. It's hard to even comment on them without getting flamed but here goes. I love them, and not just for the price. They work. I check the bore alignment on every can before I shoot it. I had one of...

Re: Feed Ramps

I don't know if there is a standard, but I bought a couple of barrels from Classic Firearms that came with wider feed ramps, as in the pic. I loaded up some old 30-30 bullets I had into 300blk and they fed them well. Others wouldn't.

Re: Subsonic 300 Blackout Suppressors

I also have a YHM Phantom. I have shot it for years without worrying about cleaning it. Of course, it is a QD, and rotates to a 308 once in a while, and shoots a fair amount of super 300blackout.

Re: Today's reloading musings

I do not notice a change that I can trace back to the brass. Take into account that I am usually the variable in my groups anyway. I felt the same way about the loads I worked up, then SPS went out of stock on the bullets I was buying, and they cost a LOT more elsewhere. Ugh.

Re: Jacketed loads with H110 & 2400

Not exactly, but close. I load with WC820 milsurp powder. I was told to start with H110 or AA#9 load data. I started at 15 grains with a 125 bullet, and finished at 18 grains, with 2,250fps out of a 16" AR barrel.

YMMV

Re: Prefered handgun.

Generally, the one I have in my hand. All joking aside, it changes often. I love my FN Five Seven, but it doesn't get the trigger time it used to. I really like 1911's, but they are generally too heavy for EDC. I had one built that is only 24 oz. I just got it and love shooting it, but haven't carri...

Today's reloading musings

I started off the day yesterday with a very specific reloading mission, and I feel like I got there, so now it is sharing time. Last month, I jumped on a 2 for 1 deal at Global Ordinance and bought a lot of their Australian Defense Industries 300 blackout. It is 125 grain SMK bullets, and I have bee...
