didn't cross my mind about pressure and bore size, but now it makes sense!
Thanks!

why can't 5.56 be loaded with fast burning powder like 300 BLK?
I own both calibers and am familar with the advantages and disadvantages of both, not trying to get into a debate on that. The 5.56 55gr bullet was originally designed to be fired from a 20 in barrel. When you go to SBR barrel lengths such as a 10 in barrel, you end up with a fireball of unburnt pow...

Re: buffer weight for quietest db at the ear?
My ear damage was pretty much all from shooting guns. Mostly did not have adequate hearing protection. I have hearing loss, tinnitus in both ears that never stops and a condition called hyperacusis, which makes everyday sounds seem too loud. I always thought worse case scenario was that I could pote...

Re: buffer weight for quietest db at the ear?
Thanks for the responses. I'm aware of the silent buffer setups and had actually planned on getting the armaspec stealth recoil spring. I know it's not as adjustable as the JP but the price difference is significant. I'm just not sure what weight I should run on the armaspec with an adjustable gas b...

buffer weight for quietest db at the ear?
Its been a while since I have posted, but I have severely damaged ears and all of my past posts have largely been about trying to setup the quietest 300 blk upper. I just got a good price on 16 inch 300 blk upper with a pistol length gas system. I may be changing that to a carbine length gas system ...

Re: Need input on Gun Safe, specifically Stack On brand
Gun safes can be very deceiving. All the ones at big box stores can easily be defeated. All these safes are actually rated as residential security containers by UL ratings. The word "safe" is more of a marketing term. The door will be the strongest and the whole body of the safe will gener...

absolute quietest factory load currently available
I researched this topic a lot, but still learn of new options all the time. I just ordered some Hush 220 gr and also some gemtech 208 gr. Anybody have much experience with these, or have any suggestions for anything quieter? I'm not concerned about match grade accuracy, just want the quietest factor...

Re: Savage Arms
Well, I loaded up a few rounds tonight with 8.1gr n-110 and 190 nosler custom comps. Shot two over the Chrono to check velocity, running about 1000 fps. Second shot of the actual group had a light primer strike so I ended up with only a four shot group. Must need to adjust my sizing die a little. T...

Re: Savage Arms
I just bought one of these yesterday. My stock is exactly how you describe, just about touching on the right side of the barrel. Mine, however, has something odd with the finish on the stock. Just handling the rifle scratches the black finish on the stock. I'm not one to get overly upset over minor ...

Re: large volume 300 blk cans - DB @ the ear
Thanks for the reply. Those are all good points. I only shoot outside and in a open area with the least amount of trees around me and on soft ground. Shooting over snow is interesting. I've gotten a chance to since I got my suppressors, but I'm guessing when you shot over snow, it was even quieter?
