They did indicate it would be subsonic, but I can call back and discuss further. They seem more than happy to discuss over the phone. Since I am not reloading yet though, I can only talk in theoreticals with them. I will use this data and call again.

FYI the guys at Rainier have suggested 10.5g of 1680 and an OAL of 2.135 to get the 180G HP bullet to expand. I wont be able to test this for a while but just thought I would leave it here for any of you that have the Rainier bullets. I am working on getting some distributors that carry these bullet...

Do the 180gr Rainier bullets mentioned in a thread near this one expand much at sub speeds?

Yes the expansion was mainly for my use for HD. Small hunting uses would be secondary. I did not realize that decent expansion at sub speeds was so expensive!

So I guess I will need to find great bullet options for a HD load, both sub and supersonic, plus a plinking subsonic load. Thanks!
