Re: Rainier wedge 180 and ruger american ranch
Also, I had feeding issues out of the box with the wedges. The flat nose of the wedge(HP) would run up the ramp and then go above the chamber hole and hit the rim of the barrel. I did notice though that the magazine would shift down a bit when pushing a round out. I decided to shim the magazine catc...

Rainier wedge 180 and ruger american ranch
Hello, Has anyone tried the rainier wedge 180's in a Ruger American Ranch yet? I just got a ranch rifle and used my Hornady max OAL gauge and it measured a shorter max OAL than I expected with the rainier wedges, like 1.92! The start of the nose taper is pretty much flush with the case neck. I loade...

Re: 180gr Rainier HP Wedge and the Forster Hollow Pointer
Thanks rebel, didn't notice your post, sorry. I used the 1/16th bit and did have some different results. Shot into a container of very wet dough about 7" x 7" x 27" with a duct tape covered window for the bullet to enter. I only got off 2 rounds, things got very messy. 1 round was jus...

Re: 180gr Rainier HP Wedge and the Forster Hollow Pointer
I made my wooden bullet trap yesterday and just got done filling 3 of my forster-ed HPs with beeswax. The wooden bullet trap is about 6 x 6 x 25. I have a window cut out of the front that I will tape up with saran wrap for bullet entry. I hope the wet dough stops the bullets in 25" and can get ...

Re: 180gr Rainier HP Wedge and the Forster Hollow Pointer
So after waiting for Elvis ammo(youtuber) to do a gel test with a drilled out wedge, I am going to go ahead and do it on my own. I think Elvis has had some issues with youtube, it has been months since he said he was going to make the video. I do not have a gel block, nor am I going to make gelatin....

Outlaw state 220 EXOT .308 expanding rebated boat tail subsonic
I have 65 bullets.
$50, shipped.
They are a dollar a bullet from outlaw.
I decided to switch to a lighter bullet, nothing wrong with them. Some have very, very slight darker tarnished spots.
Thanks!

Re: 180gr Rainier HP Wedge and the Forster Hollow Pointer
1.5" to 2" at 100yds. I find that rather acceptable for one of the cheapest mass produced bullets for 300BO. I am also using one of the cheapest 300BO uppers available.
