Hornady 300 Blackout 208gr. Amax Subsonic ammo not consistently subsonic?

So, I've shot Remington, Sig Sauer, and Lellier & Bellot subsonic ammo and it has all been subsonic. I bought some Hornady 300 Blackout 208gr. Amax subsonic ammo on sale and shot some and I'd say that the majority of it is not subsonic. I wasn't sure if it was just me so I loaded my Ruger American R...

Re: Frustrated with my CZ 527!!!

My new 300 BO Ruger American Ranch Rifle wouldn't load either. I sent it in and when it came back they had re-barreled it. It works so smooth now and feeds everything from light target loads to heavy deer hunting loads. Couldn't be happier.

Maybe send yours in.

Re: Ruger American Ranch

I like .300BO Lancer mags......clear and reliable. However, with lighter loads they have been a little bit noisy.

I have .300BO Pmags and they are nice but so tight I have to slam it into the rifle to seat them and that's why I went to Lancer.

Re: Meet my latest build - with special thanks to Dellet

I did do the whole class with subs but that probably wasn't the best choice for the 100 yard stuff. Since it wasn't really a competition, I wanted to see how the load with the 180 grain subs held up to the 'default' on the reticle for 100 yards. Unfortunately the group size opened up so much I am n...

Re: 300 Blackout 190gr Sub-X® Subsonic - reliable and proven Subsonic round for Deer?

Proven? I don't think I've seen anyone using it here for dear yet but there's been some testing threads. Here's one http://www.300blktalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=128&t=101736 Personally I only have subsonic hunting experience with the maker bullets, specifically the 200gn rex. They sell loaded am...

Anyone have poor results with Lehigh Defense 300 Blackout 194gr. Subsonic Maximum Expansion on Deer?

I tried this Lehigh Defense 300 Blackout Whisper 194gr Subsonic Maximum Expansion on deer this year. Out of a 8.5" barrel AR with suppressor. Had a medium sized doe about 40 yards away. Took a nice relaxed, broadside shot on a doe. Doe jumped and it appeared the front shoulder was broken. Waited an ...

300 Blackout 190gr Sub-X® Subsonic - reliable and proven Subsonic round for Deer?

300 Blackout 190gr Sub-X® Subsonic, just saw a box of this at Fleet Farm.

1.) Is this a proven and reliable subsonic round for deer?

2.) If not, what is a better subsonic 300 BO round for deer?

Re: Have they fixed Ruger American Ranch Rifle's feeding problem???

thanks for the update....so there is something more than just the mags going on...pretty sure you didn't keep your original 2 mags but would have been nice to know if they worked in the "new" gun. however I also can say that the lucky 13 mag works with ALL my different 300 loads....weird Original m...

Re: Have they fixed Ruger American Ranch Rifle's feeding problem???

Update: Sent the rifle in and got it back recently. Ruger paid shipping both ways. Took about 2 months so it's good that I sent it in the off-season. Ruger sent a slip that stated that they replaced the barrel and refinished the barrel action. Apparently it's cheaper to replace the barrel since it ...

Re: Have they fixed Ruger American Ranch Rifle's feeding problem???

When I bought mine the AR mag version wasn't available or I would have bought that for sure. I can only say that in hindsight..as I should have researched a bit more on the RAR...who would have thought that a simple flush box mag would have been such a problem. 4 Rounds perfect for hunting for him,...
