Re: Not cycling with subs

Don’t forget the RifleSpeed has a second level of rotation. 13 to 24 per say. It might not positively lock/click without a spacer on the split spring though. Open her way up if you want. I wasted a lot time. Had that thing on and off half a dozen or more times and I was running suppressed, with an e...

Re: Not cycling with subs

My RifleSpeed is the least efficient AGB I’ve ever tried. Great if you’re taming a Lion but a little too much for a mouse. I love it on my 308 and I’ve gotten it to work reliably with A1680 powder on 300 Blk. It’s probable not the best for playing the edges of quiet with custom or light loads. Take ...

Re: Gas port issues?

Hmmm,.. Am I off topic or on? Maybe just adrift... A 10.5" almost doesn't need a AGB. It has the dwell time and is very forgiving. You start loading light charges of fast powder in shorter barrels where you've opened the gas port for function, now that's another story. Switch to a hot supersoni...

Re: Problem first time loading subs

in general. when I go from an 8.3" to a 5.5" barrel, I go from 1000fps to 950fps and live with it. I do download to 1000fps for my 10.5 though.

The weather man infers the speed of sound will be 1018fps at 8:00am tomorrow morning. It'll be a 5.5" barrel day... if I go out.

Re: Spinning cases during trimming with RT1500

I run the two die set from GSI International, rough and finish. I was considering maybe that was a roughing die, but both my dies bump the shoulder to the same spot and don't spin when they do. They just neck it down in two steps.

Anyway, I think you have a bad die.

Re: Problem first time loading subs

The Sierra 220gr Match King with 11.2gr of A1680 @ 2.120" COL is like the original Advanced Armament Corp (AAC) cookbook load. (300aacblackout dot com) The 220 MK leaves a lot of room for powder behind it, and seems to like to be loaded to about 2.120" maybe 2.130" COL for reliability...

Re: Spinning cases during trimming with RT1500

The base of the trim die needs to touch the shell holder so the full length of the brass is sized. All my trim dies seem to bump the shoulder a thousandth or so less than I like even though I let the handle barely start to cam over. But nothing like that. If you can't screw the die down anymore, I'd...

Re: Adjustable Gas Block for Build

+1 on the bleed-off Superlative. (No the bleed doesn't make it louder. It's not a f'n giant hole like when an AK pops). A nice build will have one. Give you bragging rights. Let you experiment. That said...I leave mine setup for subs, right there at 5 turns or neutral. Seems I either forget to set i...

Re: Noe 311-242 for AR 300 BLK Any one using this mold?

I tried the 311-247 RG back in the day. Pretty sure NOE 311-242-HP is the new name. Guess I don't know if you were interested in that hollowpoint version. Anyway, my 8.3" rifle functions flawlessly with 9.5gr IMR 4227 and all the common heavy bullets typical for subs. I had nothing but trouble ...

Re: Problems w/Berry's 220gr subs

I size the my cast bullets to 0.310" and expand the neck to 0.309". (oh, 0.309" the same as in a 7.62x39 die, Hmmm) I wouldn't be surprised if those plated bullets are nearer to 0.3085" and the oem expander was 0.306". Kind of like shooting a 22LR down a 12ga barrel. I size ...
