Re: Neck sizing only
Sounds like your chamber is larger than the gauge. You may want to reconsider neck sizing only. For info additional info on the topic do a search on Accurate Shooter for Eric Cortina’s opinion on the issue. Hope this is OK, here’s the link https://bulletin.accurateshooter.com/2019/01/quit-neck-sizin...

Re: Seater die
I’ve never had any RCBS seaters but I’d guess not very well if at all. There isn’t anything that’s close other than the stem for 308 caliber bullets. At first blush the die won’t align the case because of the difference in case diameter and the body will be too long because of the difference in case...

Re: 300 whisper sub-sonic bullets
Big question is what you’re going to use it for? Is it a plinking, target or hunting round? There are a lot of bullets without lead but they’re certainly more expensive than lead or lead core bullets. Lehigh Defense and Barnes make some great non lead bullets but they’re not inexpensive especially i...

Re: Quick question... Developing a load with a suppressor?
I develop the load without the suppressor to make sure the load is stable. After finding the load I want to use I then confirm functionality with the suppressor. My experience is very little change in velocity but POI changes.

Re: PSD Primer Pockets
I’d suggest getting a Ballistic Tools small primer pocket tool, reasonably inexpensive tool that will ensure the primer pockets are good to go or there is an issue. The gauge has a go and no go side and also a notch to confirm proper depth on the go side.

Re: Dillon 550/650/750 owners help me out
Golfindia said it better but I use the Lee FCD because it has a colletthat IMO is superior to a taper crimp because it tensions the entire area of the neck it contacts. I don’t want a lot of crimp mainly just enough to hold the bullet and remove the expansion for the lead bullet. When I use a boat t...

Re: Dillon 550/650/750 owners help me out
If you do choose to trim with a Dillon 1500 the Whidden 300blk trim tool head is preferable at least works better on my 550c. The tool head has room to use the lock ring (nut) on the bottom and not interfere, as a result it’s a lot easier to get the lock ring tight so when the trimmer is started it ...

Re: Sizing problems 300BLK
I use 9 parts 95 % alcohol and 1 part liquid lanolin. Good luck finding alcohol now though. I believe isoheat is +90% alcohol and can be used in place of the alcohol. Throw cases in a ziplock bag and use a good sprayer, let them sit a little bit to let the alcohol flash off. I tumble them in Walnut ...

Re: FTF is primed brass from American Marksman
Do the primers look like they’re seated properly? If primers aren’t fully seated the result can be FTF. Are there good dimples on the primers? Are you able to measure the case? it’s not unusual for cases to be undersized as a result are too short and case head is not reasonably tight against the bol...

Re: Setting up handloading on Dillon 550
I use the 550, I use the “home brew lanolin/90%+ alcohol” 9 parts alcohol to 1 part liquid lanolin for size Lube which is the similar to the Dillon Lube with excellent results. A high quality sprayer is necessary, put about 50 brass in a gallon ziplock bag, couple sprays close and shake and roll bra...
