Any idea how this bullet will work on a rib/lung shot? Will it tumble as well with out hitting a big bone first?
Thanks

Re: Deer Season
I shoot the same load and have shot 6 deer so far this year. At that range the bullet will do it's job. The problem I've found is mid chest cavity shots will bleed little to none until the chest cavity fills up to the point of the entry/exit wound, not the "knock down" power of higher velo...

Re: Are you a Hunter? or do you just shoot animals?
Probably 90% shooter, 10% hunter. I shoot a lot at night to help with crop damage from pigs and deer so it's walking or riding looking for animals. I also sit in stands on the property but it's the same thing, if it walks out it gets shot. I do hunt with friends occasionally on their leases and only...

Re: First subsonic kill using Lehigh Defense ME’s
Congrats on the deer. I've experienced the same with the ones I've shot this year. Little to no blood for the first 40-50yrds and then you have to find it. The last deer I shot I had to bring my dog in to track it, it ended up going in the total opposite direction than I thought once it entered the ...

Re: 300 Blackout at 100 yards
The hardest part of night shooting is accurate range estimation, at least for me. Another factor is whether you care about recovering the animal or not. I went out last night to help a farmer with deer/pigs. No pigs sighted but I shot two deer. One at about 75yrds and the other closer to 100 yrds. B...

Re: 263 pound boar
I shot one about that size a couple of years ago. Defiantly had a rank smell but processed him quick. The key is to soak them in salted ice water with baking soda. I did that for three days with a water change and more salt/soda. Good eating.

Re: Sub Sonic Hunting Bullet
G2 Research follow up. Went out last night and had a hog come in after dark. Shot looked/felt good, side of the head about 50yrds. Heard the bullet hit, hog fell over thrashing. Hog kept thrashing and after about a minute it started staggering away. All the time it was behind some bushes, tall grass...

Re: Sub Sonic Hunting Bullet
Another one to consider is G2 Research 200gr subsonic. I shot a small doe, broadside, just behind the shoulder, at about 50yrds. It looks like the bullet started coming apart as soon as it hit the first rib. Multiple wounds on the far side ribcage with some pieces passing through. Plenty of internal...

Re: 700 sps tactical
So how is your ATN sight holding on? Looks like just to front is on the rail or just the front of the rail is secured. I can't get my ATN back far enough to be comfortable either.
Thanks

Did the same thing six months after buying my first(and only) brand new truck. Rolled a spike buck from the drivers side headlight all the way down to the taillight. Dented in the whole side of my truck.
